Any opinions on Ape Out? Mostly curious about the difficulty.

It's a very fun hectic action game that isn't too hard, at least from playing the first two albums worth of levels. I did a stream the other day with that as the first half if you want to see it in action:

I played through Gato Roboto and Pikuniku over the last two days and both are great short experiences.

Anyone who is still playing 3DS games should not pass up the eShop offerings from publisher Circle Entertainment.  Circle publishes a lot of Japanese indie games, and it seems like its games go on sale every week, but I keep buying them and keep enjoying them.

I purchased Alchemic Dungeons, Drancia Saga, and Kingdom's Item Shop today, and I have been playing them all since then.  Kingdom's Item Shop is my favorite.  It reminds me a lot of Recettear on Steam.  And each of the aforementioned games is on sale for $3 each.  I already feel like I have gotten my money's worth out of each of them since I will be going back to each of them this week during lunch hour.

I picked up Ape Out and Downwell so far. I’m contemplating Red Strings Club and Katana Zero but I know they will be cheaper and I won’t get to them anytime soon.

Same on Red Strings Club and Katana Zero, I've been eyeing up RSC for a long time and want to support this port but don't really think I'll get to it in the next few months.  Maybe I'll impulse buy at the last minute before the sale end.

Yea, it seems like Devolver Digital games bottom out at 50% off. Otherwise, I would have gotten Katana Zero and Gris, but I'm happy with buying Ape Out, even if it will probably go lower.

Put about an hour into War Theatre this weekend.  Overall, it's solid Advance Wars style strategy with the main difference being your CO character is on the field and is vulnerable to attack.   The AI seems pretty tight right from the beginning and there was no serious hand holding, so this might be tough for those new to the genre unlike AW which eased you into the strategy and does a good job explaining CO Powers.  The game seems to have a lot of depth for things to unlock including perks which you can apply to make it easier.  Overall, for the $0.99 worth of gold coins, I'm happy with the purchase.  Surprising to me, I'm actually starting to like the graphic style.  I never imagined that happening.

Anyway, I took a short break from Skyrim (was in an area where I was way under powered), but I'm back at that now.

I am curious as to what your build is like in Skyrim. I always want to get back into that game but I only like to be play as a stealth archer and after like the first three hours, you become super OP and then makes the game boring.

This is what happened to me. I still want to go back, but I'll somehow do the same blacksmithing and archery stuff that got me into that mess again.

This is my first time playing Skyrim (despite owning the PS3 Legendary Edition).

I'm playing as an Imperial with a focus on one handed combat. I've largely ignored magic, pickpocketing, stealing, and am playing it pretty straight laced (though of course I loot). Lately I'm working on stealth. The thing that's drawing me in is that it seems like just about every named character has some side story and miniquest to follow. It's almost overwhelming. The main quest are really interesting as well. I'm currently on the island that's part of Morrowind, and working through some side stuff there. I ended up in a mine with some OP dudes that I just couldn't match with brute force. I ended up cheesing it by going in stealth and taking pot shots with my bow and then creeping away and hiding. After that, encountered another Dragon and took it down. Fun. There's something just really fantastic about exploring in that game. I'm a huge fan of that, and it seems there's always something to find. Technically, I'm leaning OP for an Imperial at the moment as I tracked down the Zelda gear and am using it even though technically it's no better than my best items... but my weakness in magic is making me a bit of a weakling against those that focus on it.

Arcade Distillery games are so ugly to me. I can't get over it.

I felt the same way... now... I don't know, the art in motion looks pretty good in this game. Screen shots really don't do this justice. I'm really surprised that the art actually started to look good to me. Maybe it helps I played Steam World Dig 2 recently and still have that odd art-style for the characters in my mind?

Can we get a Rogue Legacy sale finally?? I've owned it since it was put in early access on Steam so many years ago and have since bought it literally on every other available platform. I told myself because of this I would wait for a sale on the Switch version but I am getting antsy now!!

Is Nine Parchments worth $6?  It looks pretty enough and I like Dungeon crawlers.

Wow, City Connection was one of my favorite games when I was like 7. I could never remember the name of the game until now. I'm pretty excited to play it again.

City Connection sounds like a under the radar NES game that isn't well known so I'll be checking that out. Double Dragon II should be fun to run through a bit, at least there is an hour of nostalgia there.

As far as Pokemon, I haven't played since Blue but I might be getting in on this one as it looks like a proper jump into 3D with a big world.  I'll probably be going for the Sword version though.

I was thinking of going Shield before the Direct today, but the Sword legendary reminds me of Repede from Tales of Vesperia... So, I'm going to have to go with the sword wielding wolf.

Aww, I thought they had gotten all the junk NES sports games out of the way.  Oh well.  Still hoping for SNES games to be announced at E3 (and for NES games to continue to come, of course).

Not quite sold on SnS yet, as Sun/Moon left a weird taste in my mouth.  I found it pretty boring, but I also sunk over 100 hours into it, so I dunno.

I actually really hate sun and moon for kind of a long list of reasons and am skeptical about the new games but I will probably still pick it up. Especially if it becomes one of the voucher games. At a minimum some of my problems will be fixed by it being a Switch game as sun and moon ran like complete trash on original model 3DSes.

As someone who only played Blue/Red/Yellow until Let's Go Eevee, I'm weirdly looking forward to the new one.

I only played Red to completion (even had Mew2).  Bought Emerald to try and get back into it and just wasn't interested in keeping with it, though my kids at that point were all into the games.  The new one looks like it ticks a lot of boxes for games I tend to like.   The world looks like a joy to explore.  I'm really surprised by the stuff they threw.  My oldest son is already planning to buy the game and before this I would have probably just skipped over it, but now I'll definitely give it a try.

Gris is one of the most interesting games I've played this gen.  The music is just unreal for a game so small.

I think there is going to be a cost associated with the DLC.

Kind of disappointing because I have the game on Xbox and Switch and I don't really want to buy the DLC twice.

Rocket League has a big event going on in three parts from 6/10 to 8/12 called Radical Summer with lots of 80s themed items, modes, and some DLC cars coming over the next two months. It seems like there are a lot of licensed items to earn like Marty's hoverboard from Back to the Future 2, Cobra Kai decal skin, an ectoplasm boost, and more.

More details here:
