Anyone picking up physical My Time at Portia this week? Wondering if it’s worth it.

I've been playing quite a bit of Portia on PC and I really like it. It doesn't quite fill the void from when I finally moved on from Stardew Valley, but I've tried a lot of similar games since then and this is by far the closest anything has come to matching the feelings of wonder and hopeless addiction I had with SV.

What a good price for a switch pro controller? Was really avoiding buying one but at this point I need it.

I ended up getting the 8bitdo adapter to use a PS4/Xbox One controller with my Switch. It might be a good alternative at ~$20 on Amazon.

The missus played it on PC during early access and finished all content and played everytime new content was released (day of). AFAIK, it's at least a decent game if you're a Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons/Stardew Valley fan.

~$50 is the lowest I remember seeing them new or used.

I got mine for $45 from Best Buy during a pricing mishap, but I think the lowest I've seen is around $50.  Worth it - it's a solid controller, feels comfortable, etc.  The adapter to use an XB1/PS4 controller is great, but wouldn't work for me on several games - They don't support amiibruh.

There's also the PowerA brand wireless/wired controllers.  I used the wired for a bit before getting my pro controller, and it did ok.

It's currently $56.99 on Amazon.   Keep in mind the third party controllers and adapters don't replicate 100% of the function of the pro.  The pro has the NFC reader, the more precision rumble, and of course the best battery life of any other controller.

I'm interested in Kingdom: New Lands as it is on sale but I read it has some bugs that have not and will not be fixed.

Anyone know if that is accurate?

The Wii U Pro controller beats it at a whopping 80 hour battery life.

With all the controllers this supports (8BitDo controllers and arcade sticks (excluding 2.4G controllers)
Xbox Bluetooth controller, DualShock 3, DualShock 4, Wii U Pro, Switch Joy-Cons, Switch Pro) it is great to have around as a back up.

Shovel Knight is super tempting. I played it on 3DS and something came up and I never got back to it but enjoyed it quite a bit.

Yeah, but still at 40 hours the Switch Pro controller is hard to beat among current gen controllers and most of the rest of the previous gen controllers.

Still, yeah the 8bido adapter thing isn't a bad option at all.  I should get one of those and check out my WiiU Pro controller with it.

The game requires NSO to share and play other player's levels. They're going to have a $70 version of the game that comes with a 12 month ind. sub. NSO members can buy a pair of Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers for $99.99 through 7/31 that gets you any two games from this list of Switch games, which is supposed to include Super Mario Maker 2 at some point.

I didn't see anything about a stylus bundle, so I hope my Game UK order comes through.

Also the 2 for $100 digital games seems interesting. I think you need to be a switch online member, and maybe one game has to be SMM2.

Finally, there's a $69.99 bundle including SMM2 + 12 month Nintendo online.

I was hoping for a stylus bundle too. Oh well.

The voucher can be used on any two eligible games. From the list looks like any major first party release.

You're right. I don't think SMM2 is a requirement.

Must redeem within 12 months and must be Nintendo online subscriber at time of redemption.

Upcoming games will work, too. marvel alliance 3, Astral chains, and I'm sure others.

The 2 for $100 deal is fantastic when you stack with discounted eshop credit and take in the 500 gold coins you gain from the transaction.

Here's hoping the new Animal Crossing is announced by e3 and eligible for this promotion.

so i have no interest in a NSO sub but would really like to do the 2/$99 thing.  Any chance it could it work with a trial membership?

I’m gonna buy the voucher thing for sure, but will wait til e3 to see if AC shows up on the list. Since it expires a year from purchase, I wanna give myself as long of a window as possible.

Also, I immediately thought of CAG when they announced the vouchers and how we can use it efficiently.

The small print says a paid membership is needed at the time of purchase and redemption of the vouchers.

On a side note, using the vouchers effectively pays for NSO.

Remember that Nintendo Online is free for Amazon Prime members through Twitch Prime.

If you're not, it's still just $3.99 for a month (but remember also that you have to be a member both when you buy the Voucher and when you redeem it).

Between some gold points and leftover credit I just picked up two vouchers for $4. Hoping that Luigi's Mansion and Animal Crossing will be out this year and will qualify.
