Troll and I is $11 on amazon...
https://www.amazon.c...s-20&pldnSite=1
Something tells me this should be passed over though.

I couldn't make it through the intro cutscenes due to massive lag. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

It doesn’t need two screens for the original Wii U version, but it does definitely need touch controls for making levels. I expect they’re taking the time to figure out the Maker portion of the game if you have your Switch docked. I gotta think they’ll eventually release it in some form on Switch. The game was too popular not to.

It seems like an easy fix. If you want to make levels you use the Switch undocked and if you want to play on your TV you can dock it.

Seems like it would be easy enough to make levels on the tv if they use the joycon with ir camera and motion controls as a make shift mouse.  They could also let people move a cursor around with traditional controls.  Seems like there are many ways to make it work docked or undocked.

The only issue with undocked is this isn't a DS/3DS/WiiU type resistive touch screen but a capacitive touch screen and drawing/manipulating with a capacitive type stylus/pen (or a finger) is no where near as precise as with the resistive touch screen with a basic stylus.  So it may actually be better to play it docked with that kind of screen if (when) they end up bring the series to the Switch.

Defense Grid 2 is coming to the Switch:

For those that haven't played it, DG2 is a great tower defense game.

tl;dr: NES Joycons vs NES classic + 8bitdo G Bros

I wanted to play some NES games tonight, and although I have an NES classic, I'd like to take my game on the go, too.

I have the NES Joycons but I havent opened them yet. I just got the 8bitdo G Bros Wii classic and GameCube wireless controller adapter, which lets you also connect NES/SNES classic controllers to the Switch. I was wondering if anybody used the G Bros at least a fair amount to tell me if it works fine, because I'm thinking of just selling the NES Joycons and using the NES classic controller with the wireless adapter. This would be for home play, as I'll probably use the regular Joycons when on the go.

Alternatively, can anyone suggest why the NES Joycons are better than the NES classic controllers?

Thanks everyone who gave feedback on New Super Mario Bros Deluxe. My wife and I finally got around to playing some last night, and it was a blast! We ended up having to force ourselves to stop playing or else we’d be completely drained for work today. The co-op aspect is super fun, especially since we couldn’t get out of each other’s way!

The GBros works great for me, and it has a Home button and Share button on the GBros itself. However, the issue specifically with using a NES Classic controller to play NES games on Switch is that you don’t have the trigger buttons on the NES Classic, unlike the NES Joycons which do have the triggers. So that means you can launch and play a NES game using a NES Classis controller, but you can’t suspend to get to the settings in-game, like create a suspend point, reset the game, or back out to the game selection screen. I’ve been playing with a NES Classic controller, and I have a regular Switch Pro controller on the table next to me to back out to the menu using the triggers. It’s a bit cumbersome, but it is doable. With the NES Joycons, you have trigger to navigate the menus without any problem.

Awesome point. I forgot about this as I only tested it undocked with the regular Joycons still attached, and I didn't realize I was using those Joycons to do get out of the game.

It looks like Ultimate Fishing Simulator for the Switch is going to be released January 24th, and it's going to be called Fishing Universe Simulator. PS4 and Xbox will get the game later this year.

The eshop page shows a $9.99 price, so I really hope it's not a stripped down version of the game where they intend to sell you back the rest of it as dlc. I've been hurting for a great fishing game since Fishing Resort on the Wii. (By the way Nintendo, if you re-release Fishing Resort on the Switch I would pay any price you asked. You did it for Go Vacation...)

Has anyone here played both Fishing Resort and UFS? Does UFS compare? (I know the wii game is cartoony but it had a ton of content) I'm not too crazy about the using gear aspect, I'm mostly into the collecting, gotta catch em' all experience. If it stays $9.99 I'll probably buy it anyway

Have you tried Legendary Fishing yet?  I know that got a release a few months ago on Switch.  I haven't picked it up yet but I believe it looked very arcadey, like Sega Bass Fishing, if I remember correctly.

That one has average reviews and it even goes on sale from time to time, but I was put off when they said there's only 20 different types of fish. Fishing Resort had 216!

I just came across Fishing Star: World Tour (comes out January 31st. 180 fish to catch!)

https://www.youtube....5&v=CZXL-n9LJ1Y

I'm going to look into this further but watching the trailer makes it look very similar to fishing resort  :D/

Though it's going to be $30 on eshop. Ouch.

I’ve played pro online on my iPhone which is the exact same thing except it has the nfl license. It’s a pretty fun game but once you beat all the tourneys not much else to do. It does kinda have an rpg element to it where you get coins and upgrade your players. This looks exactly like the game on the iPhone so there’s a free trial right there for you. To me the $15 price is pretty steep I’m going to wait myself. If your looking for a football game for switch I would also recommend now geo football frenzy it’s pretty fun and it’s half the price. Hope this helps.

There might be 3 or 4 commercially and/or critically notable games on this entire list. eShop is trying to be Steam Greenlight on steroids. At least the games aren't broken? Then again neither were the games during the infamous iOS Shovelware era.

I'm a few hours into the new No More Heroes so far and it's a ton of fun. Definitely different, but still feels very much like No More Heroes. So far I'd say it's an easy buy if you're a fan of the franchise. (Although if you value length vs cost, can't vouch for that yet.)

Also you can use in game currency to buy shirts with designs from DOZENS of indie games, which is fun. I won't spoil the ones I've unlocked, but it's definitely impressive the catalogue of shirts available.

I missed out playing the first two games years ago, would I be totally lost if I started with this game? I like Suda51 craziness and read he was in talks to have the first two games brought to switch and possibly a third game if strikes again sells well.

It's definitely tailored to fans of the series, but goes out of its way to explain any previous plot points it references. That said it's not "No More Heroes 3", so there's very little connecting plot. It's very much its own thing.

I'd check out some videos on youtube of gameplay and story elements and see if you like it, those should give you a pretty good idea of what you're getting into.

I’m sure it’ll be back st that price again- it’s been $30 digital at least twice already.

I’ve been playing it pretty much non stop since that holiday sale- and I have the game on pc/PS3/PS4 already. Well did at least- got rid of my PS3 and PS4 version for the switch version. I play it at work during lunch all the time.

What are some must have digital games coming out? I have 80 left in eshop. I was tempted to purchase new super mario bros but I figured I'd just beat it once and never play it, so I went physical.

I love having the essentials digitally and already own smash, MK8, Mario party, odyssey, tennis, overcooked etc.

I just have no idea what I'd buy. Yoshis world? Or would that be another play once and never touch again type of game?
