Finally picked up Enter The Gungeon. I'm a sucker for big substantive free updates.

Actually reverse those. You'll usually have physical promos based on in-store offers (usually Best Buy or Target have some good promos every so often.)

That's what I said.  It's not necessarily grammatically correct, but it's the same thing as what you said (I used poor grammar to keep the word "rarely" for both)  More rare would be what you think I said.

I'll chime in on Enter the Gungeon. It is pretty unforgiving, but no more than Binding of Isaac, imo. I enjoyed it a great deal. I've only played on Switch and have only been able to get to the end of the game and defeated the past once (the Hunter can be OP).

I think the game relies most on your ability to judge dodge timing and knowledge of your character's perks. If you're up to learning strategies on how to play and like references to pop culture guns, you'll probably really enjoy it.

How is Enter the Gungeon?

That's my post from the PSN thread about it.

The search function sucks, can somebody confirm whether these are new all-time lows for the Ace Attorney games or if I'm just misremembering past sales?

Check there. I know Apollo Justice is the same since that was on sale during E3, but check there to see the others.

so slightly related... what travel game case do you guys use for the physical games?

I have the Hori 24 game case, and now need a 2nd, should I buy another Hori, or something else?

when I decided to buy the Switch I never thought I'd buy this many games, both physical and digital.

Well I got My Nintendo birthday coupon in my email and it’s good for 30% off certain 3DS and WiiU games. Sadly no switch games, but I’m not surprised. The 3DS selections are decent, but I already own most of them. So it’s down to two I don’t actually own. Hey! Pikmin and Monster hunter stories. Both are $27 with discount, and I’m leaning towards MH stories as it seems like a Pokemon clone.

Thoughts?

These games lists are looking a lot like Steam nowadays. A bit nauseating, really. I remember the days where, if a game was put on the eShop, it was most likely good. Now a good game is the exception.

I like the fact i can choose what I like, and not be told what is “good” and what shouldnt be allowed on the system.

What one person likes doesnt mean everyone likes.

So normally I would disagree but then I think about the fact I am number 2 in the world in the game Tennis In Your Face on my switch...

This is true. My point however is that by turning this into modern day Steam, it's actually MORE difficult to conveniently find quality games. All you have to do is look at Steam to understand what this eShop is slowly becoming. Nintendo has stated they want 20-30 games per week on eshop. That tells me they value quantity over quality - another Steam marketplace failure. I don't see how anyone could think that's a good idea for the regular gamer (unless you think the likes of the Apple app store and Steam are healthy marketplaces, of course).

It's a bubble that's going to burst and may possibly hurt even the most reputable of 3rd party developers. There is such a thing as too much, especially in this industry.

There's no denying that Steam isn't as healthy of a store because they have oversaturated the marketplace. Repeating this history would be an oversight on Nintendo's part.

And prior to the switch the complaint was nintendo wouldnt put many games in the store from 3rd parties..

All they are doing (nintendo/steam/apple/android/sony/etc) are giving people the ability to put their game out there for the masses to see.

Im sure many people can point out struggling no name devs that were going nowhere, and were able to put their game up on steam etc and skyrocketed them to a big indie dev.

I love seeing the indie devs getting a place on the switch etc, forcing all the big names to actually create good games instead of the same old stuff cause they have little to no competition.
Id rather play indie games instead of some EA/activision/ubisoft/etc game a lot of the time.

Edit: and id much rather see the players make the decision on what games are quality (with their wallets) than Nintendo/Steam/apple/etc.

I agree. Of course, like Backlash said, pros and cons to both sides, but I can't help but feel like we're going to get bunch of shovelware. Choice is always a good thing, but the crappy search/filter on eshop + it's like steam without the crazy steam sales = littered pile of shit (subjective) that we have to sift through if we haven't been keeping up to date.

Thank gawd for Frisky.

side note: going to pick-up Enter the Gungeon ;)

Is Brawlout any good on the Switch? Debating about getting it at the current eshop price but I’ve read there’s issues with load times which makes me wonder if one of the more powerful consoles would be a better place to play despite lack of on the go play.
