Pretty much all Kirby games are aimed at kids though. When you have his ability to fly, the forgiving mechanic of just grabbing an ability right back after you lose it and generous health pools it is fun for kids that don't have the skills or patience and just want fun. Lives are irrelevant in this day and age, Nintendo needs to follow what they did in Mario Odyssey and just get rid of the whole lives mechanic like the rest of the world has done. It isn't like in recent other Mario games playing through normally wouldn't obtain a staggering large number of lives - that's hardly unique to Kirby.
The game is fun, fairly short and not real hard. In other words, it is a Kirby game - and the next one will probably be just like that, too. Running out and getting it then complaining because it is those things is kind of ridiculous. Wait for a good sale, like this one, if that's an issue. If you want a good side scrolling challenge, I highly recommend Salt & Sanctuary that just came out on Switch (psst, it has infinite lives, too).
