Come back to Gamefly we miss you for $1

Sure, soon as you refund my 25$ that your "support specialist" decided to cancel my account without my consent.

Nice, in for 5 cheeto-stained games that I could get quicker and free with Redbox promo codes.

I'd get it but since starting my new job I just don't give a fudge about gaming unless it's the weekend which thank god I have off every weekend.

Nice! I've wanted to try out Funky mode in Tropical Freeze and play the Odyssey levels in Captain Toad, but couldn't justify repurchasing the titles for Switch. For $1 I might as well.

Maybe I'll check out Kirby, as well.

1 dollar to get at most 1 game shipped to you and you have 1 week to play it so you cancel after 1 month. Gotta know what you’re signing up for and aim low for that game you’ve been meaning to try that’s not a new release

I'm a cheap ass as much as the next guy but $1 for the chance to save $60 seems worth it even if it fails.

I have never had their shipping times be that bad. I usually get through two games a month when I do their trial, though once I was able to get through three. They typically ship out the next game a day after USPS scans the game being returned to them. If USPS fails in scanning the return, then it will definitely slow things down.

It also depends on the length of the game you are playing. I only use gamefly for games that take no longer than 5-8 hours to beat. If you get an 80 hour game, then you probably are only getting through one game that month.

I signed up on Monday, games shipped out on Monday, and I still haven't received them. It depends on how far away your nearest shipping center is. I live in New England, and for some reason they always ship from PA. You'd think with NYC being so huge that they'd have a place there, or even in Boston. One week spent on waiting for the games to arrive.

EDIT: They only have 3 shipping centers now: LA, Austin, and Pittsburgh. Shit turnaround times for anyone not within a few days of those places.

Been 3 days, 35 games on my queue, they have yet to ship one
If you go to your Queue, next to My Queue there's a thing that says "Change Shipping Preferences".

It says the "default" is to ship the next available title immediately, yet somehow (despite never knowing this existed or changing it), mine was set to Hold My Queue for highest-rank title.

So yeah. Check that. I switched my preference and had two games ship out same day (#4 and #5 on my list)

I've never really had issues with gamefly when renting from them. this is my 4th or 5th time subscribing and I've always gotten atleast 3 or 4 games a month. definitely worth $1. i signed up thursday and a few hours later i had two titles ship. If I can get those two games beat and have another 2 shipped to me I will be pretty pleased.

Following up on this.

I sent my last game back on 9/18. Gamefly kept claiming they hadn't received it yet, then they charged my account $42.40 last night (the game was Watch Dogs by the way). I sent CS a strongly worded email and told them I would dispute it with my credit card company. Magically, the "your game has been received" email arrives, then a response from CS saying "oops sorry for the confusion we refunded you."

Watch your credit cards and emails for this scammy bullshit. Their fast shipping records the game being sent via USPS so the next ones can ship quicker. There's no way they didn't know I already sent the game back 18 days ago, and it wouldn't take over two weeks to arrive at their facility if it takes one week for me to receive one.

Thanks for the heads. I send my games this week so hopefully they get them next week. Man 42 dollars for watch dogs. That's ridiculous.

Offer email still worked as of about 2 weeks ago, so worth checking if thinking it expired.

Had to laugh the other day with them. Started out with Spiderman in Q and left it there with an open slot hoping it would send. Got a movie, watched and sent back. I also had new Assassin's Creed Odyssey waiting in Q (xbox & ps4, shooting for one to send). Spiderman never shipped.

They get the movie back Thursday and proceed to send both platform AC's to me same day. I mean, I guess I can't complain since i got a Day 1 release, but someone else missing out during two way transit time now. Seems like there's room for improvement in system there, since probably not first time that's happened to someone.

I use them to buy games during sales.. But as a rental service they just harass the shit out of you with their bogus "we never received our game back" emails that go on for months.

I had a game take a week and a half to get to me from the time they shipped it so I complained that it was lost in the mail. 3 days later they send me out a replacement right before I cancelled so now they're complaining cause they game they sent out still isn't back. I'm sorry but it takes (too much) time to get to me and then back to you all.... I got 1 game in the entire month. Worth it for $1 definitely not at full price.

When i used to go for ps3 trophies i would get easy games from gamefly during promo periods like these. I got platinum for a lot of games too.

This was the response I received, by the way:

Hello [redacted],

Thank you for contacting GameFly. Prior to charging you, we sent communication to [email redacted] asking if you intended to keep the rental or if it had already been placed back in the mail to GameFly. After receiving no response to this inquiry, your account was charged for the full replacement cost of the rental, per our Terms of Use.

We have since received the rental in our facility and have issued a refund to your account for $42.20 to offset the original charge. Please allow 3 to 5 business days for the credit to post to your account.

If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Ebony R.

The gist is that it was my fault. It absolutely wasn't, considering some of my games were confirmed to be in the mail within 2 days of me returning them. This confirmation took 19 days. How could they not know I had shipped it back? I also have documentation that the other games I sent back arrived at their shipping center within one week. Makes me think they would have never refunded me if I didn't say anything.

How do you know they only have 3 shipping centers? Mine shows Kansas City Warehouse

Got the same automated email about game not being returned. I opened a ticket with them letting them know the exact post office it was returned to... 2 hours later the game was received.
