$50 for a 2 tb seagate hard drive

Ebay is also taking $10 off orders of $50 or more when you pay by debit/credit.

Add a filler item (I bought a single balloon, lol) and there you go.

I'd also be interested to know if this will work for PS4. I am going to make the jump to digital games and this would be great.

As daminion said above, all you should need is an adapter. Hell, get one of those to put you above $50, and then save $10.

Good idea!

I had found a 2pack with usb>usb-c
And usb-c>usb at Five and Below
(Haven't used 'em yet but I've been pleasantly surprised by their electronic stuff before)

Update: the Seagate drive from the OP did not want to work with the PS4, simply would not format. It did, however, seem to work with my X1.

Just curious, is it possible to transfer stuff from your PS4's internal to external HDD as needed? My thought was to put a SSD in my PS4 Pro, which would store my games to play, and once I'm done, I'd store them in the external. And if there's stuff on my external, could I just transfer it to my internal SSD?

I like having all my PS Plus games on my console so I can play some of them on a whim but that doesn't work all that well since pretty much every PS4 game is 50GB.

Yup, sure is.

My take on that is the PS Plus games are basically rented and are useless if your sub ever runs out. I'd just delete anything not good enough to consider actually owning.

Any benefits installing a SSD vs a hdd?
More space for less money. A 1TB external SSD is $334, so half the size for over 6 times the price. I imagine the difference in content loading speed is negligible given how fast 3.1 is and the console's inherently optimized bus and caching.

Dont know where you're looking but a 1TB can be now had for about $180.

Also dont install a SSD. Very little gain. I'm talking like 2 seconds. If that.

The drive probably is formatted for NTFS out of the box and the PS4 can only read FAT32 / exFAT formatted drives. You would need to format it to the correct file system on a computer.
