$499.99 PS4 2TB 500 Million Edition on Dell.com

Lol considering Dell's history, what are the actual odds of them actually having this in hand.

Had no chance the first time around, ordered one via Paypal just now.  Got confirmation email, but I'll wait to see if I actually get it first.

I'm kinda tempted just to see what happens but that's another $500 I do -not- need to spend right now lol. Thanks OP, you're gonna make a lot of people's night.

Dell canceled shadow of war limited edition a day or two after it went up for sale.

I did notice they have the PS4 slim days of play for sale. Also they have the 500M dualshock 4
Msrp for both

The controller is tempting...

In for 1. I have only ordered one other thing from Dell. It got canceled, but it was a price error. Hopefully, this goes through. Odd, that it is still available to order.

Still in stock..yeah okay.
Definitely oversold, placed a order and got a message saying they couldn't process my payment. How they even got these is questionable. I'll be surprised if any actually ship.

Now showing no longer available.

Sweet, finally sold out.  Good thing I maxed out my 10k credit line. Got 20 units... see ya on the bay.

Lol 90% chance they wont ship if they do it will be very few. Bit of course I miss by a few mins to even get a chance

I tried to order last night but my credit card flagged it. You cant update payment without talking to Dell CS, so I had to wait for them to open today. I just got off the phone with them and they now say I'm all set...I'm still 95 percent expecting a cancel email.

If I do get it I'll probably sell my current model as it's running slow as molasses and I'm worried about it

These things aren't even worth flipping anymore, so maybe that's part of why it stayed up for so long.
Wow you ain't kidding. I checked and you can easily get one less than 700. By the time scalpers pay tax, shipping, and ebay fees, barely worth it. I remember the day preorders ended people were trying to get 2 grand.

Exactly. Out of curiosity I checked eBay when I saw this thread and did some quick, rough calculations. That's an awful lot of risk and hassle to sell one of these on eBay for such a small amount of profit.

I'm happy to see that, though. Now people who actually want one can get one without selling a kidney, which is always a good thing.

Some of us are not living paycheck to paycheck and could float 20 units no problem. I've learned it's often more work than it's worth.

You do realize that's $10,000, right? Even for many people not living paycheck to paycheck, that's an awful lot of money from one's savings account to have tied up in Playstation 4s for God knows how long. Totally agree on it being more work than it's worth a lot of the time, though!

Napkin math I did suggests the margin on reselling these is near $100 in profit, I guess if you were buying enough it's a quick gain but yeah more trouble than worth to me

I think one of the major factors for it being a bad flip is using eBay. People suck and can easily take advantage of sellers there. So $100 in profit from a $500 purchase with $40+ in shipping is extremely risky, and it would only take one shitball to potentially turn the whole thing into a net loss. $100 in profit from a much cheaper and smaller game or steelbook or something is much more enticing.

Yep, that is a huge risk. And the margin does not cover the crap you would have to go through. It took multiple phone calls to even partially resolve a guy that tried to play the "never picked up" scam with me and waited until the very last second to file the claim to try and game the clock and that was over a single game. I would be very hesitant to risk something that expensive over 20 different auctions. Ebay is ridiculously "buyer friendly", and even with all of the necessary documentation and proof they still get away with it all the time. I had everything in order, and this guy had a loooong history of claiming he didn't receive things judging from the feedback he left others, and while they said they would "look into it" nothing ever happened to him.

I had my ebay account restricted like 10 yrs ago because I sold someone a FF7 PC big box and he said I 'packaged it poorly', when I had put it into a priority mail carboard box that was basically the exact size to fit the box in, eBay is definitely very risky as a seller because they will gladly back buyers and it's hard to really prove anything on your end once it's out of your hands. Nevermind how large the fee incursions go between eBay taking a cut and then Paypal taking their cut

It boggles my mind that this can even be a thing. If the tracking shows it delivered, then that should be that.

Tracking, confirmation, and the name and phone of their post office of the post master that would confirm the package was in a bin awaiting his pickup. He was trying to play the "I didn't get it, refund me now" bit, then pick it up after the refund. The post master said he had several packages, so I assume he was doing this to others as well. When I pushed back he waited until the very last day, phoned them and filed a claim which they immediately refunded him. Took three calls for EBay to give me the money back.

shame that ebay never got the point that they could just act as some kinda shipping proxy and take the risk off the sellers entirely and assume shipping risk

On the flip side, one time ever I was scammed on eBay. I bought a $400 highly rare art book. A week goes by, never comes. Seller claims he’s super busy and apologies. Offers to send me an extra book for the inconvenience. I get the consolation prize a few days later. Another week, no $400 art book. I then get stern and say if I don’t have it by the end of week three, I’m reporting them. They then went no contact.

Contact PayPal and eBay fraud departments. The result? They side with the seller. He said to me an item with a tracking number, and it was confirmed delivered. Except he sent me maybe a $10 item, not a $400 art book. I was livid and dig in, escalating high up. My inner detective came to light and the ace in the hole for me was that the art book was 17 pounds whereas they printed a paypal shipping label for 1 lb and used a small box. USPS would have never accepted that for a large and heavy book collection.

After a week of back and forth, they finally sided with me. On one condition. I send the ‘free item’ back to him at my cost. I laughed and said “what stops me from shipping them a rock in a box and slap a tracking number on it”. The rep chuckled, said I make complete sense, but it’s ‘policy’ in order to get my $400 back.

Like Renzler, mention. Some of us do not live check to check. Many people are able to floats 10x this amt from month to month. Learn to manage your credit  and credit score and soon the bank will be paying you to use their funds...

As easy as it is to resell items these days passing on something that is immediately worth $100 over retail is like walking away from a 100$ bill IMHO. Not stupid if you don’t need it or can’t invest but also not going to knock you for putting it in your pocket.

Okay who tf on CAG is floating $100k month to month? $10k maybe but 10x that? I dunno man.

Not equivalent. The effort and risk to resell is NOT even remotely the same as finding a $100 bill on the ground, and walking away from it.

This is a potential headache waiting to happen. People will pass that up to not have to deal with that stress.

Grats to everyone who scored. I hope Dell comes through for you. This console is pretty sweet.

What a silly thing to say to a representative after a long, convoluted process of trying to get your money back while making them believe you are telling the truth.

Why is the pro still so expensive. Most places I look it costs more than the MSRP of $400. I realize this is a special edition with a bigger hard drive.

Not everyone is making pennies a day. Some of us may be cheap but doesn't mean we're all below the poverty line.

Not to get into a resellers talk but there are plenty of other places to sell items besides eBay. Amazon, Mercari, CL, LetGo, OfferUp, FB Marketplace, Poshmark, Vinted, etc.

If you sell this item per say, on eBay, you may not be making a lot but if you sold this and other items elsewhere, it could be worth it. People see $100 profit and a $500 item and think "damn, what suckers, barely making any" but you have no idea if they are paying tax (if you have a business you can get a tax exempt certificate), what discounts they stack (on the site, store or on shipping supplies / outlets), what their fees are (if they have an eBay store with lower percentages), etc.

I wouldn't buy this but many resellers buy items just to make 20% profit. It's all about volume of the sales.

I'm just glad some here got any. Hopefully Dell actually ships these out for all that got it.
