$5 steam cards, fair warning the steam card required me to have them call and verify my number, email from them said something about receiving a lot of chargebacks and needing verification etc, it was just a robocall and took 10 seconds

The email says that they will refund the money if you contact them.

Thing is, they want you to contact them outside of eBay, which would keep them in the clear. No no. I used eBay's messaging service to tell them "give me my code or I get eBay involved." As soon as I can get eBay support to listen to me I'm gonna file a report.

Yeah definitely shady how they reached out, be even if well intentioned they shouldn't be making eBay buyers jump through hoops. I had to do the call verification on an order I placed with PayPal, which made even less sense
