Remember when people used to post good deals on the Video Games Deals board?

Lately, most "deals" that people post about don't save you much.  I can't tell you how tired I am of seeing topics where if you spend $100 at a retailer, you get a $10-15 gift card to use on a future purchase.

On top of that, it seems you don't even have to post deals at all.  There are topics just for talking about new video game releases (Red Dead Redemption 2, mini video game consoles, etc.  These aren't deals - just announcements that you can go and buy this product now.

I'm not trying to bash the site or anything because I still come here every day and the people are great, but it sure has changed since I first discovered it.

We actually can’t control the quality of the deals that exist. Big retailers are far less aggressive on their sales promotions these days. Profit is more now more important than customer acquisition. See the demise of GCU, Prime rewards...

'Member when Cheapy was in Saints Row? Big Ass Chains? I 'member.
im actually still in it!

It's true that the good deals you could find online from message boards has dwindled.  I think the demise of FatWallet.com was a huge blow.

Maybe the economy will crash and we'll get back to business as usual?

What if theyre not bots, and their actually people hired by the movie companies to spam people to watch their movies?
