Considering what Wombat says about his son's predilection for hard horror despite his age, and now the stories about him in the past several episodes... yeah Wombat's bloodline may be full of sociopaths.

HELLO IS THIS THING ON?

Wombat. et all, please learn from this episode and stop wombatting on your grade school scars. You need to pick yourself up and go play some sports and not have anyone at any time tell you you're not good enough.

Stop being a Rory from Girlmore Girls, when she was told she wasn't good enough to be a journalist by her prick boyfriends dad. Go find your Jessie and stop wasting time!

Oh by the way, I'm hoping Cheapy or someone who has a MAC can do an experiment of playing games on a Mac and talk intelligently about that. I'm not one who has much money for a second set-up (PC) just sticking to a 13 inch macbook pro + but want to game!

The quote came from the GQ article:  "it’s that games are still magical. It’s like they’re made by elves." and it's a rather messed up thing to say as it's almost like they're saying game developers should strive to be magical beings who are overworked in Santa's Workshop without wont of rest, food, necessities or their families.

And if I tried to be one of them gamers who don't want to talk about politics, I would also say that Nintendo games are magical worlds that manage to hide their seams very well. They provide fun and joy for the entire family. Rockstar Games, and Bethesda, Ubisoft, etc, with their games requiring constant patching and continued bugginess, are clearly products made by vast teams of human beings. Gamers appreciate these AAA titles not because they are magical worlds, but because they are the culmination of blood, sweat, tears, and pixels from millions of hours of work. These video games should be compared to massive buildings, like museums or government headquarters.

I'm late to the party and still catching up on cagcasts. But in episode #565 where the CAG talked about star trek next gen episode "Inner Light", Star trek voyager had a similar episode called  "memorial" where the memories of civilians killed in a war were added to the memory of the crew. It was so everyone could experience the tragedy and learn from it. Much darker than Inner light although.

Sports guy “waving hi” to Shipwreck!
The only timed mile I remember having to do in high school was for basketball try-outs. You had to run a 6 minute mile or a 14 minute 2-mile. Good times.

Omg this was a great CAGCast. I too was a tall skinny guy in HS who couldn’t run for shit and had to keep running that damn mile over and over. No one realized that I had untreated asthma. Not the coach, my parents, or me. My gasping like I was dying wasn’t enough of a warning sign in the 80s. Good times when I found that out years later. I ran a 5k last year, so f-off high school coach :)

Thanks for the memories and the laughs!

I feel for you Wombat!

You can't let them get you down, Brother!

I understand your pain!

Except mine was my high school counselor. I was kind of an F'up in HS, so end of my sophomore year, I decided to turn my life around. Everyone else was taking the career assessment test and I went to my counselor / vice principal, and asked to take one.

Well, I was yelled to "What? You're never going to do anything but flip burgers for the rest of your life anyway! Get the Hell out of my office!".

And, me being a hot head teenager (said F'up), that started a heated argument that ended with me going and filling out my withdraw paperwork and told them I would be back when I am 18 to sign it. That was the last time he and I ever spoke.

I knew I needed my HS Diploma, so I went to vocational school and got my degree. The early 80's were a MUCH different time.

I am proud to say that I have been working in IT for over 25 years and am currently back in college again.

You have got to be you, Brother! Don't let anyone crush your soul! (and, yes, I know... easy to say... it still hurts to this day)

But I do think it was kind of a "D" move for you to just trip those kids like that.
