BestBuy Battlefield 5 $39.99 w/GCU 31.99 plus steelbook.

I enjoyed BO4 more than I thought I would and BFV less than I thought I would.  Even so, I'm enjoying BFV quite a bit.  I bought on launch with the $10 RC promo and have price matched the new sale price.

At the current price, I think it's a bit easier to excuse some of the bugs and some of the features that are MIA.  If you've enjoyed a BF in the past I say jump on this deal unless you, like myself, bought way too many games last week.

For this particular incomplete game $20 is the magic number. I imagine after the holiday season, the price will plummet further...and then that paid DLC will roll out.

All DLC for BF5 will be free, there is no paid DLC which is part of why I jumped on this.

This game came out? I stopped paying attention to it because it looked like the same gameplay as BF1 which already had people running around with SMGs and machine guns spraying and praying like a COD game.

Will never buy this. EA even told us not to buy the game. Don’t support their SJW practices. It’s a video game. I play for fun, not to have your political views forced into them!

Gonna marinate until it hits $20, which at this pace, should be in like a week and a half.

Sure sucks when you try to shit on a game and someone comes along with pesky facts.

I snagged this at Target for $30 due to having a gift card there. Looking forward to it. I enjoyed my time with the EA Access trial.

Wow so much hate on this game and I'm over here having the most fun I've had since bad company.

fucking love this game. Havent even touched my rdr2 or fallout 76. Dick riding it so hard right now

Same here, single player stories are pretty good, haven't touch rdr2 after slow start will go back after BFV.

Don’t see many people hating on the game itself. Just the poor sales numbers it got. Frankly this is probably a masterpiece compared to the turd that is Fallout 76, which is more deserving of the low sales it has gotten.

I probably would have picked up this one since I've bought every Battlefield game since 2009, but EA told me not to buy it. :shame:

EA on Battlefield 5 Controversy: “If You Don’t Like it, Don’t Buy it”

PM with Target $29.99 and got the Steelbook free. Probably should have waited, but I put 100+ hours into almost all BF games since Bad Company so I might as well pick it up.

Anyone else that PM'd BFV notice that they have a -500 pts from the preorder in RZ account.  I just emailed to have them fix it.

Wow the price is dropping hard. Is it that bad? I've always liked the BF games over others like CoD
I don't think the game is particularly bad. From what I have heard from friends who have been playing it, it's just another Battlefield game for better or worse. The game is not selling well though and may even be doing worse than Battlefront 2. I think the poor sales are due to a number of things, but mainly the questionable way the game was released. EA did the now popular staggered release for those who spent more money and what not, but it also came out literally right before Black Friday and over a month after CoD this year, which is probably the best entry in the series this generation.

I typically pick the BF games up when they come out, but I don't have much desire to get this one right now myself due to the price dropping so fast and just simply having way too much to play already and there are several games that I have yet to pick up that are out or coming out in the next week or so that I'd rather spend my money on and I would have to say that is probably the case for a lot of people.

I wish my GCU didn’t expire last month or else I’d be all over this.
I would have been in at $30 if I still had GCU, but I don't. This must be what it feels like to not impulse buy games due to them being slightly cheaper. I've probably already saved $200 by not having GCU.

I think that's correct actually - everyone has been saying if you contact them to PM to the Target price they take back/cancel out the $10 reward certificate from the price. I could be wrong but that's how I've interpreted what people are saying though.

I have PM'd in the past and it never effected my pre-order bonus. I will see what their CS says, emailed already.

Sounds like EA should've done a better job getting these facts out to potential buyers. I'm on EA's email list, and checking back several months I see nothing about free DLC. I did get an email encouraging me to check out the loot boxes though.

The sales numbers will be so low that EA will switch that free DLC to paid content, or they will add more pay to win microtransactions than usual. Watch it happen, folks.

Ended up price matching Target and then selling the free steelbook on Ebay to bring it down even further. Hitman 2, Battlefield V and Fallout 76 for 80 OOP within 2 weeks

Anyone able to get the steelbook with the purchase of the PC version? I know that for some odd reason it's not included.

I am really hoping I can find Hitman on a deal again soon. Fallout I just can't see rewarding Bethesda with any money for that travisty. I would rather buy it pre-owned and give my money to GameStop to try it.

No one should be rewarded with a dime for a product like that when they are as big and experienced as Bethesda is.

Speaking of GameStop they still have Battlefield for $39.99 also

Honestly I'm living the multiplayer. It's a ton of fun. Big maps and the battles feel strategic. More so than COD. Plus the verticality of the Maps are awesome too.

The reason being EA is cheap as shit and doesn't include a disc; just a DL code. Doesn't make much sense to have two empty cases. : \
