Animal Crossing Backpack Buddies at Dollar Tree

guess its ymmv, was at dollar tree today and saw three display boxes full of these at the very end of registers where they bag your stuff, these were absolutely not there two weeks ago, and didnt look all beaten up like they had been there for any length of time

This post is for anyone else, like me, who didn't know what the hell a backpack buddy is.

Thanks!  Got the last two in the toy section at my store for my niece and nephew for xmas.  Also found a box of Star Wars and Frozen Tsum Tsum.

All us young millennials grew up with backpack buddies,. I guess this shows you guys age? I didn't know senior citizens still played video games.
Lol. Your profile says you're 36. You're kind of an elder millennial on the cusp, yourself. I'm just a bit older, and I don't think I'd ever heard the name backpack buddies (despite literally having 2 clip-on characters on my backpack), and the person who posted the photo is a year younger than you. Maybe it was a regional thing. *shrug*

No luck at my Dollar Tree finding these.
They might be a bit hard to find. They're basically big rectangular foil envelopes stuffed inside of a cardboard display box with an opening in the front bottom, and they could have other stuff piled on top or around. I literally had to do like 3 passes through the toy aisle before I finally saw them sitting there. But like I said, my store only had two left, too, so who knows how many the individual stores actually got in.

I visited two Dollar Trees yesterday, and I couldn't find them. I found a similar style thing for Dragonball Z figures. I made laps around the toys and around the registers, but I never found.

I saw a bunch of Street Fighter 2 mini Metalfigs at Dollar Tree the other day, in the toy section.  I wonder if they carry the whole set - saw M. Bison, Blanka, Ken and I think Ryu, but I didn't really dig beyond the ones in the front.

They also had some WWE Metalfigs and I think another type as well.

I stepped into a Dollar Tree waiting for some chinese food next door and it was a mess.  Middle of the day and all the aisles clogged with boxes of merch they needed to put out.  No one doing it.  Worst looking store I've ever been in.  Other Dollar Trees never had this problem.  Searched around best I could but half the toy aisle was blocked with boxes.  Did see some Crossy Road (Disney) backpack buds up front in their own little displace box, but no Animal Crossing.

Yeah. I visited another Dollar Tree over the weekend, and I found 3 boxes of Dragonball Z ones but no Animal Crossing there. I guess different stores got different boxes.

I grabbed 5 of these for my daughter as stocking stuffers.  These retailed for $5.99 originally, I believe.  She has a couple from when I found them for $2.99 last year.  Hopefully she doesn't get a bunch of duplicates.  $1 each is a good deal for pretty much any blind bag collectible.

They were in the toy section on a regular metal hanger with the other toys at the Dollar Tree I found them at.  I bought them a few days ago.  Didn't think of posting the deal here since it wasn't a video game.

I've discovered Animal Crossing while I was in quarantine and played like crazy. And now I find out that there are bags with it. I hope shops still sell them, lol.
I have crazy love for bags. I own so many that I can't even count them. Not long ago, I bought one from backpacks.global, but that's not enough, haha. Especially after I found out that there is a backpack with Animal Crossing. Maybe I will search it on Amazon or eBay. I want it so much.
I don't even know how to stop it. I feel like a crazy collector.
