Starlink Ships, Pilots, and Weapons 50% off at BB - GCU applies too

I can’t lie and say it’s not tempting. But I don’t think the game is all that interesting, and even half off it’s still a lot of money for the physical toys.

I wish the digital would be 50% off.. I am not going to take my case off my switch and connect the joycons to it every 7 days. I only use the switch in handheld and have a case on it that secures the joycons in place, and it's not exactly quick to take off.. (really would only want it on switch)

But a question.

If I have the physical game, can I still buy the digital addons etc instead of the physical ones? If that works i may do this.. just the Starfox part be a pain.

Yep you can absolutely buy the digital pack that contains basically everything even if you have the physical edition.

hmm.. I also have a $11 credit at BB. this is tempting, and I see all the digital DLC are normally the same price as the 50% cost of the physical...  :whistle2:k

I saw this last night and decided against it due to the 7 day BS.... Now i'm on the fence again.

Edit:

Ships in carts show up $10

Pilots $3.20

Weapons $4

Just adding 1 at a time shows these prices also.

I'm so tempted. I got the switch starter at Dave and Busters and it's fun.
But I somehow see this going the skylanders way quickly and being bargin bin for the figures.
51 bucks for all 4 ships and 4 weapon packs sounds too good tho.

Are the characters useless?
They have different specials and having more allows you to level up everyone much faster. There's also three or four that are part of specific factions that allow for access to special permanent upgrades that are locked otherwise. I also believe every one is fully voiced for integration into the story.

Useless, no, but you can do without them. The ships and weapons have much more gameplay use with the weapons affecting things the most.

Man....is it worth the $60 to just get everything for in store pickup? I only have the game on switch. I'd love to get it on ps4 eventually too

This looks cool but as stated previously, this will likely go the way of skylanders and will drop in price at some point in the future. WIth my backlog, that is the way to go for me

For a couple bucks, I might pick up a weapon pack or two. Bought the starter set physical on BF and it does feel like being limited to the two weapon types would get annoying after awhile. Anyone have insight into the what would be the most useful weapons to get? Unless it doesn't matter because there's an equal mix of enemies that are weak to certain types

I own it on Switch and PS4. The PS4 controller attachment is corded, which sucks, but it's so much better playing with a PS4 controller instead of joy-cons. This game is one of my favorites of the year so I can play it completely on both systems and not feel like I overpaid. It's up to you.

Still haven't opened my starter set. Tempted to buy some ships / weapons, but feel like they'll be back to this price sooner rather than later... Maybe I'll just pick up one or two ships :p

Any must-haves / strong recommendations on the ships / weapons?

Bought em all for the kids for Christmas - nice thing is they are well made toys so they will get just as much use out of them as toys.

Wish they had another controller mount for switch.

The boys like using the grip controller so its perfect for them.

The Switch starter set actually comes with more stuff in digital format, I think another ship and another weapon or two

I also would be interested to know what's actually needed to 100% the game though, like those lists for Dimensions or Sklanders

It comes with one digital ship and on digital weapon. That said, you can only use them in digital mode and not with the physical toys.

As for 100%, the only thing I've noticed are the faction upgrades I mentioned in my previous post.

Aren’t there towers that need various elemental weapons? Or do they all just need the fire and ice from the starter?

I'm almost done with the game. Never felt too hard but I could see how having these would make it much easier. Tempted to purchase some weapons but I think I'll manage.

I wasn't going to give in on this, but 64% off with GCU and store pickup is probably about as good as you will get, outside of everything reaching 70% clearance at target, (which may be a real possibility).  There is no more toysrus that is amassing these, and store stock doesn't seem too excessive to reach the level of infinity or skylanders madness.

And the bestbuy promo is supposed to be Buy 1 get 1 50% off, but everything is 50% off.  So could be a temporary mistake.

Don't forget there's are Target and Gamestop Exclusive ships. Before for ordering "everything", you'll probably want to check if you can get those.

I ended up sucking it up and ordering everything for in store pickup tomorrow. After tax it was $60 and change for all 4 ships, weapons and pilot packs

Is there 1-2 dlc/physical items that would make it less pain in the ass? At least for switch with the starfox starter kit.
The neptune ship pack plus either the nadir or lance ship pack or the crusher weapon pack. You need a gravity and stasis type weapon.

Also, if people want all the upgrades, you'll need to pick up Eli, Kharl, and the Nadir ship.

It's worth noting that there's a digital pack that contains everything for 60. I'm expecting to see that go on sale at some point, but I, too, don't see the toys going too far below this.

Also worth pointing out is that you need to also buy the ps4/xbox versions if you want every physical ship and weapon.
