I've started using the list of games leaving Game Pass to look into things I didn't pay attention to before. Decided on JumpJet Rex over a replay of Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, it's a fun, dumb experience that's great for perfectionists. Also another great example of achievements adding challenge and replay value, although some of them are downright sadistic.
I had a lot of fun playing Rex, mostly for the Gamepass challenges, in small chunks. Reminds me of Super Meat Boy, just not as difficult.
Phil says Xbox has 14 Xbox Game Studio games to show at E3:
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Age of Empires
The Outer Worlds
Minecraft Mobile Game
Finally watched the trailer for "That's What I Call, Duty! Modern Warfare vol. 1" and it's a nice reminder that I remember nothing about the last Modern Warfare games in terms of story. I Remember there was a guy named Soap and I remember alot of the story was told via loading screens, but I was impatient and didn't care because it's still a loading screen. I Assume something, something Russians. Something, something attack on US or Europe and Middle East is involved and that's it. In short, I'll pick it up for the campaign when it's $10.
I never played the original [Ghostbusters], was it on 360? I wish they would’ve just done the Genesis version, that was a great game.
Yeah, it came out on last gen systems. The 360 version is also backwards compatible on Xbox One. The game's story is a direct sequel to the original films. Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, who wrote the films, also aided in script development for this game. All the actors from the movies did voice acting for the game. It is one of the last places to see Harold Ramis as Egon since he passed away in 2014. It hits very high on the nostalgia meter for Ghostbuster fans. At the time, this was considered our "Ghostbusters 3" since it seemed a movie would never happen (We'll have to see how the 2020 movie turns out).
I haven't played a hockey game since Mutant League Hockey. How does NHL 19 compare?
For me it was NHL Hitz 2003.
battletoads would be great
Well they announced it at last year's E3 for release in 2019. If they don't show the game at this year's E3 then it's delayed
Finally watched the trailer for "That's What I Call, Duty! Modern Warfare vol. 1"...
Aaaaaaand we have a winner, folks.
Also, happy for those who never played Portal or never got the Still Alive edition. I only got Orange Box from GameFly back in the day, and didn’t get into either Half-Life 2 or Team Fortress (blasphemy on both, I know), so I’ve owned P:SA for a while now, but if you’ve yet to play it, I hope you enjoy the heck out of it. And I’m down to try NHL even though I’m terrible at sports games now and the last NHL one I played/liked a whole bunch was I think 2K5 for the OG Xbox.
