I bought a few PS TVs for $16.97 each when it was on clearance at TRU and had them stashed away in my closet. A couple years later I found out the resale value for PS TV skyrocketed. What are the chances that the PS Classics will become scarce and fetch top dollars years later lol?

No idea, haha. I'm keeping mine to use them. I don't have any intention on selling them. I'm actually looking to get more of the PSTVs. I'll have to update my trade list because I have a ton of stuff to trade. I don't think the PS Classic will go up in value. There's so many ways to play PS games. Good luck if you decide to sell the PSTVs.

Yeah, those where pretty limited out of the gate, and went south pretty soon after being released. They had limited uses, and really didn't fit a big need at the time. Now that Vita can be hacked, it becomes more sought after by those who want to do other things, as well as those who just want a collectible from the Vita era that is kind of "limited".

I've bought tons of things over the years for next to nothing, that have gone up, but when that happens, the items need to keep having interest grow over time. Or something needs to happen that brings fans/collector's to the table, and I don't see the PS Classic ever having that happen. PS1 games can be emulated on almost any device in the market, so wanting it for that, is a pretty low demand. So what's left is a collector's piece, that's nice to look at, but most people won't end up paying high prices for that.

Still sitting on my $36 target one. Does the 90 days return period still apply to that as well? I'm expecting this to be much lower, so either I'll get it adjusted or return it and use Best Buy credit when it goes to $20 or less.

For all intents and purposes this is the new MSRP. These are clogging up storage rooms and retailers are better off burning them then trying to sell these for years. $10-20 by the end of spring

Even At $20.00 bucks i know I'm going to have a hard time buying it....I have already tons of better ways to play PS1 games with even better performance and storage capacity (hacked Xboxes, PSP, PSVita).

The PSTV resale prices only went up because of people who bought it think they can get that much for it.....there is no demand, new games are discontinued, and the worst of all, a lot of the Vita games are not even compatible with it.

There is a big difference between demand, and marking up prices to make believe it.

A lot of demand happened because of the ease for Henkaku

Yes on the PSvita handheld...but on the PSTV and its lack to play all Vita games?.... doubtful.

i think ill hold out till it hits $25-$30 at Gamestop. That seems like my buying point especially with the ability to mod.

Watching BB's listing.

I have credit I'd like to use on it to bring the price down. Lets hope they match.

There is a very easy way to test your theory.  Looking at completed Ebay auctions, it appears that used PSTV units go for $80-$120 in various configurations and new ones as much as $200.  Clearly, it's not just people asking crazy prices as many, many PSTVs have been sold over the past few months.

Why hope? It's their policy to match it.

Vita and PSTV for the west ended production before the first major piracy/homebrew exploit came out in 2016. There was also actually a trick in the earlier PSTV firmwares where you could send an Email through the email client that overwrote the whitelist on the PSTV allowing more games to run. That alone makes new in box units worth a lot more than a used one. About a week later a patch came out that plugged the exploit.

The thing that really shot up prices was last year when a firmware exploit was found and more well publicized. It got patched out just before Persona 3&5 dancing came out in English but that was one of the last few big releases.

It's only 30 days for electronics and the holiday return 30 days ended on January 26th.

Just keep on dropping...I'd take one at $20 or less to mod and play around with.  Wouldn't be upset if they (somehow) all were sold before that price though.
