Is the 9/21 purchase for Anthem based on individual store or are all stores doing that?
All stores.

These free steelbooks and "Starter Pack" bonus strategy guide editions exist to entice new buyers as sales lull. It sucks but offering them upfront as a preorder bonus wouldn't have benefited Nintendo.

saw someone saying on twitter (mighta been on a wario tweet) that best buy may retroactively give you the steelbook if you have purchase history for the game

That would be lovely. Guess I'll wait til Sunday and open a chat with them, see what the what is.

Still don't own a switch yet I love seeing all the steelbooks it keeps getting. Makes me feel I'm way too late to the party to even start collecting them, though this new Let's Go steel is damn nice.

WHat?

where were these on day one?

What is up with Nintendo shooting people in the foot that bought it day one and the CE version with the Pokeball.

Super mad cause i can't afford to buy another copy to get this, ARGHHHH

Anyone happen to know if this steelbook offer will be good for the Pikachu Let's Go + Pokeball bundle? I'm considering getting that with my 25% off code I just got for my GCU is ending next Tuesday.

Also I'd assume this 25% off goodbye GCU code is only good for 1 game, rather than multiple games in one order, correct?

Hopefully. This is the first time to pre-order a game (both games none-the-less) for the pokeball editions. If you find the tweet, do you mind reposting it here?

Mind boggling to me why people are bashing BB/Nintendo over the Let’s Go steelbook.

You bought the game at launch.  They knew they were getting the money from you at launch. They are now giving a free steelbook to people to try and get them to buy. No different than a sale weeks after a release.

They dont care care about you as a customer. They want your money. They have ZERO incentive to have offer the steelbook at launch to first day buyers. Makes much much more sense as an incentives weeks later when sales have slowed.

False, because customer loyalty is a thing and actions like this encourage consumers to either a) shop elsewhere, or b) avoid buying these titles at launch (which remains a critical sales window).

There's a lot more to it than just "loldurr they already got your money" when you consider this can prevent then getting that money next time (and all the times after that).

So then maybe we should all make sales lull on day 1 by not buying at launch. These marketing/sales directors are very good at training consumers to not act in the company's best interest.

Any UHD sales beyond the new releases listed? Like a 2 for 30 or 3 for 40?

I was going to grab some movies today but if there's any on sale I'd skip getting those.

You can buy the game now online and get the steelbook! And the steelbook itself is priced at 99 cents.

But you CAN'T purchase it separately as expected.

anyone have luck getting the steelbook to be put into your cart when adding the Pokemon game? I'm not sure if we should be seeing it in the cart before going through checkout or not.

How did you see this....did you already go through with an order of Let's Go on its own and the order updated to show the steelbook after checking out?

If you click on the free item it'll show the item. Go to that product page and it shows 99cenrs but can't buy separately.

It was on best buy app. If you're viewing either Pokemon game, you can click on the steelbook and it'll bring you to the product page. It shows up as 99 cents, but it's not available in store or shipping.

Finally just ordered the game plus steelbook. It finally added the steelbook to the cart but now it isn't working again for those who are trying.

after several attempts of adding the Pikachu + Pokeball bundle to the cart, suddenly it worked with adding the Steelbook case with the order. So I guess the deal has gone live now.  Paired with my almost-expired GCU and the 25% off coupon I got for GCU ending, it ended up being $65.54, not too shabby.
