Meijer offers Pokemon: Let's Go Eevee! for $29.99 from 3/3-3/9. In-store only.
Great opportunity to PM at local stores or YMMV via online chat if you don't have a Meijer locally.

The game is Pokemon Yellow version remade for the Nintendo Switch using Pokemon Sun and Moon as a base. Some later additions to the series like abilities and held items were dummied out and your player character is not Red or Blue from the original Gameboy games. Two versions are available: Pikachu and Eevee. Outside of the partner Pikachu/Eevee the Pokemon availability is the same as in Red and Blue respectively with a couple tweaks so that the starter Pokemon and Safari Zone Pokemon are rare spawns. Mewtwo is the only Pokemon encountered in normal gameplay you can only get one of.
The Pokemon Go connections are not as big as people think. Wild Pokemon battles are replaced with a catching system inspired by Pokemon go. In handheld mode the analog stick and buttons are used to aim and throw Pokeballs while in docked mode motion control is required with no Pro Controller support. Pretty much the Safari Zone from the original game with some waggle mechanic. Speaking of the Safari Zone, it was replaced with a transfer facility to bring over Kanto Pokemon from Pokemon Go in a one way transfer. A Pokemon Go exclusive Meltan and it's evolution Melmetal can only be obtained through that method.

Very much appreciate this write-up. Didn't know that Meltan was only catchable in Go rather than Let's Go. Do you know how easy one is to acquire in Pokemon Go? I haven't had it installed in months and I really don't feel like wasting any more time in it. I just want at least one Meltan to potentially transfer into Bank if they allow it when Sword and Shield come out.

You can just transfer Meltan from Go back to Let's Go. It is super easy, you get the mystery box and can catch around 17 Meltan righ away in Go.

Would best buy in California, price match this store?
Meijer is a midwestern chain of stores. They'd have to even know what a Meijer is.

Once you connect with Pokemon Go in Fuchsia City you get access to a mystery box that spawns Meltan. The time consuming thing is that it can only be opened once a week and you can only evolve it inside the app with 400 candies.

Yeah they updated that for an event didn't they?
Posted 02 March 2019 - 11:22 PM
Yeah i think it was recently. i've only been playing Go for about 2 weeks... Picked up Lets Go Eevee and just using Go for the Melmetal transfer, then probably done with Go. I like Lets Go, do not like Go..

Fred Meyer will also have a lot of switch games on sale tomorrow.

Probably worth mentioning that Meijer sale prices start at 6am, so don't plan on heading out in 3 hours to pick up a copy.

problem is the ad shows Eevee only.. pic above shows Pikachu also.
Posted 03 March 2019 - 02:34 PM
A lot of times Meijer ads won't show all varieties. Convincing an online price match person will probably take a lot of convincing.

Jackass on chat told me it wasn’t “live” online so they won’t match
Can always try again depending on how much you want the deal. It's always a toss up who you will get but a majority of the time you will get the PM if you're persistent.

Got rejected by 2 people for saying the game is in store only from best buy chat
Posted 03 March 2019 - 06:39 PM
Was available online at 29.99 for pikachu and evee, but it seems they have changed it to in store only. They are showing up as 59.99 online.

Just had Best Buy tell me they don't price match sale items... seriously?
Posted 03 March 2019 - 06:57 PM
This is what I got "I have checked the price match eligibility for you and I'm afraid to inform you that the as the product you're looking to purchase is on a "weekly add" on the competitors website, we are unable to match the price for you according to the price match policy."
Posted 03 March 2019 - 07:08 PM
3rd time and no go with best buy. Think the caught on
Posted 03 March 2019 - 07:10 PM
I've price matched sale prices from Gamestop, etc plenty of times. When did they change that?
Posted 03 March 2019 - 07:12 PM
Ha! I'm on my 3rd try now too. First time seeing the weekly ad thing,

Funny thing is there's nothing in their "price match policy" saying this, I even had to explain it to a supervisor and all he wanted was a Case ID showing me when they price matched an on sale item before. Needless to say after a half an hour I was done trying to explain it to them and even told them to show me where it said they don't price match "weekly ads", they couldn't find it obviously.
