Apparently cross country, not always showing up as in stock nor for the price mentioned. Pretty much anyone able to get to Target with stock has reported getting them... See SD thread if you need proof.

Unfortunately no Target within an hour drive for me and I don't feel like fighting flippers when they open. If anyone snags some extras for a helpful OP please pm me ;)

I can confirm this, at least in The Land of Target (Minnesota). My question to anyone who has them is: are they worth it? I don't think I'll get that much entertainment value out of it (even if I open them) and I can't see them being as much of a collectible as a Virtual Boy or a Power Glove. Idk, $39+ for both just seems like a lot unless you have kids that want them.

It's not clearance, no signage. I saw the post yesterday on FB while eating lunch and was going to Target right after. I ran to the back and the Labo endcap was empty :whistle2:( and had no price tags anyway. I frantically searched everywhere to see if someone left one somewhere else and eventually ended up at the counter in electronics. A lady who has been there forever and knows I'm into games asked if needed anything, I asked if they had any more Labo and she said she thought she did in the back. Came out with a spider-wrapped 03 Vehicle Kit, the only one I really wanted and would not open. $20.99!! Website, Target app, Cartwheel, all show higher prices, making PM impossible.

I did not go hunting for any more units yesterday, would like the standard one with the piano to open, maybe a vehicle kit. Would never open the robot..At 8am, going to take a drive to 2 Targets near my work and see if they got any left. Now, we just gotta wait to see if they other retailers noticed this and Target is wiped. I went to BBY after and they had PILES of labo boxes behind the counter, easily into the 70's plus..$20 is a sweet spot to get a set to keep sealed and at least one to open and play with that will get destroyed.

if they are going that cheap its probably a sign that the new consoles coming out wont be compatible with this

For $20 they'd be a fun rainy weekend. I want all 3.i was hopeful gamestop would get these down to $20 but I don't see it happening. My only other hope is Walmart and well, they still have ps2 games full priced at mine.

Live too far from best buy and target haha.

My Target had a few vehicle kits left and I was tempted to pick one up, but really don't need to clutter my game room with it. I'd have probably bought the Variety Kit though, that one is the most interesting to me.

Stagnating sales and the new VR Kit is why these are are being discounted at Target. New shelf space is being made for the new one and then it will also be highlighted as the only available Labo item.

Loved the Variety Kit when I bought it on release, but I didn't use it much after I finished building it. I heard Vehicle Kit is more of a game, plus compatible with Mario Kart. I picked up Vehicle Kit during this sale.

Thanks OP! Was only looking for the Vehicle kit, and Target app only showed it in stock at one nearby store, so I ran right out as soon as I saw this thread. Turns out they were packed with all 3, so I grabbed Vehicle and Robot for me and my kids, a Variety kit for an upcoming neighbor kid’s b-day, and a Variety and Vehicle for a friend in the next city over whose local stores already sold out.

I know Labo’s been divisive, and believe me, I definitely wouldn’t have jumped on the Variety Kit on day 1 if I didn’t have kids to share it with. But I can honestly say that Labo is 100% vintage R&D1-style “toymaker” Nintendo. If you’re delighted by Nintendo’s experiments with using cheaper, older technology in surprising ways (GB Camera, E-Reader, WarioWare Twisted), than $20 for these should be a no-brainer. If that stuff means nothing to you, don’t worry about it, it’s probably just not for you.

Man I thought I got a great deal on them at Best Buy for $32 a piece.

I went ahead and got all 3 of them again but I'm planning on putting them together instead of just putting them on the shelf. I'm going to do the variety kit first and if that goes well I do the other two.  Otherwise I'll return them.

I stopped by the Target on the way home yesterday after seeing Wario's post and found the Robot kit. The app said the one by my house had the Vehicle kit so I made another stop and they ended up also having the Variety kit. I was waiting for these to get down to $30 so they could all be had for less than $100 but $60 is even better. :D

Thanks for the heads-up! I managed to snag the second-to-last vehicle kit at my local Target (Mt. Pleasant, MI). If nothing else, it'll be a fun put-together for my kids here on Spring Break week.

What do you mean putting them on the shelf? As in, leaving them boxed just sitting there?

I really would like the trio so if you do decide to return them lemme buy them from you haha.

Hah! Gotcha! You finally forgot to include your stupid quote in one of your posts! Now I can get you to stop doing it permanently!

Store near me (Steel Creeke in Charlotte) was showing stock of the Variety kit. Went to get it. Employee said they sold out of all Labo the first day of the sale.

Got the last vehicle kit at one of my local Targets (Mt. Clemens, MI).  $20.99.  That was the one I wanted, too.  So, I'm happy.

Went into my store for vehicle kit. (Only one listed in stock.) The entire display was empty. I finally decided to ask employee after asking him about a TV show I was trying to get, as well. He scanned, and said one was in the back. He came back out with two vehicle kits, and two robot kits! I got one each. Good experience. Plus, Stranger Things was on sale for $5 after cartwheel coupon!

So glad i left BBY altogether, i almost paid $40 each WITH my GCU two months ago...now they are half the price and better than ever at target and i dont need GCU/redu card to get it.....nice find op

Thanks!!

I found all three at a local Target (CA Southbay - Torrance).  One of them rang up for 17.99, forgot which one, they had a few of each left but the boxes were a little dinged up

Decided to check a different Target today, hoping to get lucky. This is midtown Target in Charlotte, NC. DCPI tracker didn't show they had any Labo, but they had 3 Vehicle kits left. Grabbed one.

Gonna try a different Target tomorrow. Hoping to find a Variety kit. Inventory just doesn't seem to be accurate all the time, which I guess is probably true anywhere.

Yes,....one instance indeed.......and using reason, I can tell you with certainty that is called “the first” instance when a precedent is set and then everything follows suit , savvy?

as an adult, i found the concept interesting.  my daughter though, LOVED building them, playing the games, and showcasing them to her friends and relatives.  She's 5 and at times needed help folding but in general could keep pace with the directions.

If they are out of stock you might be able to get a rain check for when they get them back in stock or if you visit another Target a week from now or something and they have it.

If the worker gives you a puzzled look when you ask for a rain check tell them to type "9801" and then the DPCI and it should prompt them to print out a rain check. Price is good for 30 days from issuing of rain check.

Disclosure: some items are not eligible for rain checks haven't checked this one myself.

Thanks for the tip! I was able to get rainchecks for the Variety and the Robot kits.

Had the run-around though. Electronics told me they don't do rainchecks, and they called someone on walkie to verify. I went to CS, who said they also don't do rainchecks. I informed me that the Target website says they do. The CS girl called someone on walkie, and they told her how to do it. They were told to do what litepink said above, to type 9801, etc.

Now I hope they come back in stock in the next few weeks. Raincheck is valid until 5/14.

Saw a headline today that Nintendo unveiled a box to store these in. Yes, in 2019 Nintendo has found a way to sell people a fucking empty box.

I visited six Targets in Kansas and the Kansas City area on Friday and Saturday and all but one of them were completely sold out of Labo.  The one store (in Salina, KS) that did have Labo left had a few Variety and Robot Kits left.

Not entirely on topic, but if anyone has advice on the most cost effective way to buy a new switch, along with the necessary add ons and a few games, I would greatly appreciate it. Right now the best I'm seeing is getting it from Target w registry discount, and using a GameStop b2g1 coupon for a few games. Anything better out there?

There’s been random EBay and Facebook deals on the console if you can wait it out. Also it’s rumored there will be one or two revised systems announced this year. With E3 around the corner it might be worth waiting.

How easy are these things to break down and put back in the box once you're finished?
I can only speak for the RC Car (Variety Kit) so far but that one was early to breakdown and put back in the box.

Last week, I picked up (2) of the Variety Kit's at a Target closest to the school I teach at. Integrated the Labo into my Studio Art Curriculum and my students are having a blast so far.

They are currently building the Fishing Rod (Variety Kit) & Piano (Variety Kit), which both look a bit more complicated to break down after use, especially the Piano.

Sadly BF was your best bet for straight up savings. A few weeks ago if you had a Fry's local, there was a 20% off coupon that people took advantage of on top of the free gift card promo that was going on. Other than that, it's pretty much quiet until E3. Might see a $50-100 price drop at that time if you can wait the three months or so, but there's no solid guarantee there either.

Yeah, I regret not buying a Switch last BF. Guess I'll just have to wait for this year's BF because I'm not paying more than $180.

Used a raincheck today to get the Robot Labo for $17.99. The electronics guy was pissed and said I shouldn't have been given a raincheck for it. Said he didn't think rainchecks were done anymore.
