Dragon's Crown Pro: Battle Hardened Edition (PS4) - $17.99 at Best Buy

When I picked it up earlier today, and to reconfirm so there is no confusion, it is the Battle Hardened Edition with the steelcase and extra goodies. Not the standard edition.

Any tips on how to get this offer? I try to pretend to go for shipping, but no longer gives me the option of $1 off in store pick up.
Not really. I will say that I never took advantage of the previous $1 off store pick up discounts. I also still have GCU for another month or so, and lastly I had the game in my saved items so I added it to the cart from there. I doubt that info will help but mentioning it all just in case.

I've gotten this offer quite a few times and it's usually on cheaper items (like this one). I think this only works if shipping is free and I've always been either Elite or Elite Plus, which gives free 2 day shipping on everything. Aside from those details, my only tip would be to make sure you select free shipping (might need to be free 2 day shipping), and proceed all the way to the point where you're about to confirm payment, and check the shipping option on that page. It'll have a link that says you can switch to store pickup and save $1.

I've never seen the $2 off that was mentioned though.

Great game! If you like side-scrolling action RPGs this game is one of my favorites.
Yes, I agree, I got the game when it first came out (both times) - but, if you are looking for a pick up and play version of old school Capcom D&D games this is maybe not for you. The fighting is more complex, and button mashing isn't very effective. Many of the stages require you do specific things to get to branches and finish quests - not just kill stuff. The skill system takes a long time to explore completely and the loot system is a shade of Diablo-style. You have potion and item usage in fights. You won't be trying out a new character every game, I can't imagine how long it would take to max out all six. This is more of a pick one or two to focus on.

That's great if you want more to your beat 'em up, and want some character progression. Lots of content here and the artwork is impressive.

-but-

If you want a simple pick up and play side scroller, I'd recommend the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle instead for a similar price.

Picked it up, love games like this.  14 and change minus $10 reward and $1 for switching to pickup.

Sounds like it's less "Knights of the Round" and it's type, and more "Guardian Heroes" - which is great for me, because I love GH.

I wanna have this shipped but given the case and how it is heavily embossed, that shit is gonna come damaged to all fuck lol
just order two and they will be more likely to ship it in a box. keep whichever one survives the journey. if they both do, give the extra copy to your mom for mother's day.

Well,  I thought that Hardened edition was the only edition, therefore including steelbook.

About those $2 discount at BB, I wouldn't get use to that.

I took it twice, one for a cheap title and one for a preorder and guess what.

No more pick up discount for me at all now.

I've tried in all scenarios, cheap, clearance, preorder, and YES, obviously all of those have stock in my location.

I purchased this game without discount and I'll buy another in a few days and I'll let you know :(

If I didn't already Platinum the game on PS3, I would be all over this. One of the best brawlers I've ever played. Pro-tip, play as the Amazon, you won't regret it

Played the PS3 version and had a lot of fun. Figured I'd try the 4K update. With GCU, it's a no brainer. Time to introduce my kids to this and see if they'll enjoy it.

I feel like a sucker for purchasing this for $24 and it's been sitting in my backlog. Didn't think it would drop lower since I don't remember that happening for Odin Sphere PS4.

Yeah, grabbed it a while back for $32 (when I had GCU) and thought it either wouldn't get much lower, or the nice steelbook version would sell out. Still sitting on the shelf unopened. <sigh>

FYI for other snobs like me, this is sadly a Metalpak, not a Steelbook.

At least it comes with a slip case so you can actually have a title on the spine...

I'll take you up on that if still opened
I'm gonna see if any local stores have them near me. I have a feeling these are going to ship from stores and not their distribution warehouse, which means they will ship individually which also means no thanks lol. I'll hit you up.

This is too old to come from a DC. Expect store stock in a bubble mailer if you buy online.

Local store had one close by, plus I got another $2 off for in-store pickup. $13 and change ain't bad at all.

I just hope it isn't beat to shit lol

One more thing, why was there never a vanilla version of this release in just a normal PS4 case with artwork? So weird as I thought these were just the first print copies and then they were going to be followed with normal copies.

Played a bit of it last night, and I gotta say.... kinda? It's definitely more built out, with gear shops, recruitable companions, etc, but has a very similar feel to it.
Thanks just ordered it, shenmue collection, and NBA 2K19 for the switch.

edit

already received a delivery notice for tomorrow!!!

Hows the game overall?
Solo i think it can get repetitive and boring, but if you have a group of friends to play with, local or online it can be fun. The game has complete cross play so vita and ps3 players can play with ps4 players.

If you ever played the 4 player Dungeons and Dragons beat em ups by Capcom in the 90s (Tower of Doom and Shadow of Mystara) and if you enjoyed those, this game will feel very similar, I think the same director of those D&D games worked on Dragon's Crown.

arent they all metalpaks now?
The vast majority are steelbooks luckily, which is why its sad a nice one like this is a metalpak.

So unless you're going to display it with the cover facing out, you need a plastic slip case covering the metalpak so you can actually have a title on the spine... which to me kind of defeats the purpose of the nice metal case.

Very tempting.  $15.XX after tax with my GCU.

I just know this would end up in the backlog though...

I mean I always keep the plastic slipcase (or cardboard one for non-steelbook/metalpak) on anyway. Maybe I'm just weird though.

This metalpak is like Shadow of war Gold edition, I'm fine with those, anything is better than that absurd nonsensical Shining Resonance Metal case, H O R R I B L E.

Worst Limited edition E V E R.

I've actually been curious about that one as its down to about $25 now. It's basically just a metal slip case? The special edition of Odin's Sphere had one like that too and I almost bought it.

That's correct. Pretty similar to the Odin Sphere L one. I own both.

The Draconic one isn't too bad if you consider it to be a Launch Edition and not a LE.

Well, Idk when it dropped price there were regular and Launch in a big number in stock.

Totally disappointed getting that, i would understand if it would fit the plastic case kinda tight but no, both plastic exterior and metallic cover are kinda loose. Maybe i just got a lemon.

Ended up returning mine.  Took the slip cover off and there were about 5-10 dings in the back of the case lol.  Ordered another one from a different local store, and it had the same shit.  Not doing it a third time lol.
