advice for a gaming headset

I'm looking for a good headset for mainly playing ps4 games with a good surround sound and occasional pc gaming/chatting. I am thinking about the hyperx cloud 2 or alpha (with buying the additional surround sound 7.1). However, I'm concerned about the cables. It seems the Dualshock 4 can't provide enough power for the alpha to give ultimate sound, and it seems the cloud 2, I need to connect the cable from the console to activate the 7.1 surround sound. This is a problem for me since the couch is far from my Tv.

Any advice?

I heard good things about the Hyper Cloud line for the price to feature ratio for any system, but when using the controller plug, you're not going to get the best results. I'd highly recommend one with an optical cable if possible. The astro line is really good, pretty pretty expensive. The A20s are up there with the Hypers, but the A40/50 are really nice. I never liked turtle beaches much, they always seemed too cheap for me but I know people like them.

Agree with you. It's good enough

Any of you guys fans of Logitech headsets? My G35s have served me well for years now.

Id recommend you buy the HyperX Cloud II. Its really comfortable on your ears even after playing all night with headset on and the mic is incredible. I never had any problems communicating with my friends when we are playing LoL or Fortnite. But if you want to compare it to other gaming headset, you should check out this website.
