Bestbuy Clearance. Some decent deals with GCU

Can anyone recommend some of those obscure Switch games? Almost done with Golf Story and want something good.

Never played code of princess on 3ds..is that with it?

When 40% off is considered "clearance". I'll come back when they actually want to clear them out. Sorry but Hey Pikmin being $26 is hardly what I'd summize as them desperately wanting to clear out stock.

The SKU for South Park gold edition is incorrect on the website. I ordered it and went to Best Buy to pick it up but unfortunately We (I and the Best buy people) discovered the discrepency

Really depends what you're into, without knowing that, you'll get recommendations for stuff you won't even play

Some decent deals, still got GCU for a couple more months so picked up Yonder, Happy Birthdays and Wheel of Fortune/Jeopardy on Switch. My 3 year old loves Wheel of Fortune, so figured he'll at least enjoy that. Yonder looks like a mix between BOTW and Harvest Moon, exploring with no combat, and Happy Birthdays looks like a weird Sims-ish game with evolution if anyone's wondering about them. I'd suggest check some videos if you're interested. Almost got Penguin Wars, but as mostly a single player person, would probably get bored quickly.

pro tip for anyone who's still got their GCU: don't order more than 3 games in one order.

If you get buyer's remorse and want to return anything, the system gets screwy and sets everything in a bundle discount.
Meaning they won't recognize that you used gcu and you get upcharged for the other games unless you return everything in that order.

I'm not 100% if this is still the case as it happened to me over a year ago, but better safe than sorry.

Might want to check the price in-store on some of these if the website says it is in stock because it can vary by store. For example Bridge Constructor Portal for Xbox is $20.99 on the website but is $17.99 at my store.

Picked up OnRush for PS4 since there's been no indication if the PC port will ever be released. Not sure if it runs any worse in performance mode on PS4 Pro than on the Xbox One X.

Unfortunately I picked up Culdcept and The Alliance Alive too early, and to make it worse, an enhanced edition of the latter is coming for other platforms.

Thanks for this! Went for Yonder based on that and hopefully something I can share with my little man since there’s nothing violent

Best Buy isn't desperate to clear out stock - but it's a chance to give customers a chance to get the games at a discounted rate. Things can't just be sold below levels that publishers will allow and if they don't sell, they'll just get sent back to manufacturers.

Clearance means nothing to bestbuy in the way of price. I bought a lg sound bar on clearance. Then when Sunday came around it was on sale cheaper then the clearance price I had paid and it had a free gift card with it. I had to return it because they wouldn't give me the better deal because i bought it on clearance lol.

Is we happy few worth it? I only saw a few scenes and saw that it looked very bioshocky and was thinking of getting it, but a little unsure still.

Best Buy doesn't send games back to the publishers. Whatever they buy they are stuck with until it sells. That's why you might see some random really old junk stashed in the corners of some stores. Only a few years back I had to mark some UMD music video discs as defective to get rid of them because they were still priced at $20+ and no one was ever going to buy them. A lot of those older skus get forgotten about when they get delisted from the website. :p

I just tried this at my local store for Little Dragon Cafe. It was $53.99 on "clearance". $38.99 online is too much for me. I was hoping for around $25 before GCU. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

You aren’t missing out. That game was a huge disappointment.

I believe you that BB can’t just send it back like bookstores do with books that don’t sell. But why does Nintendo get to dictate the price and prevent sales. MSRP is “suggested”.

My point was that they are abusing the term "clearance".

It’s just an agreement that they have with retailers. Everything is negotiable if you have enough clout. Some items have a minimum advertised price which is why you also see things like “see price in cart” on some sites.

Best Buy return question, I just bought a refurbed pro yesterday. Now the new one is going to be $350.

I used s $50 cert, can I do an exchange for a new one on the spot, or should I return it today and wait for my $50 cert to refund by June 7th?

is BB still sending out codes when your GCU expires? didnt' get anything personally when mine lapsed last month
