Long ass load times, and lower frame rates and lower resolution as you'd expect from the weaker hardware. From what I saw it's ok but I'd never buy a cross platform game on switch. Then again some people's only game time is on the move or away from home.
It runs pretty well. It's not going to be as good as the other versions as usual, but it's a great handheld experience.

didnt really know where else to post this with no weekly ad thread for best buy, but if you bought anything during that flash sale a couple weeks back that qualified for a $10 reward certificate I got mine today in my account. it expires july 28th. i bought the 256 gb sd card. (to qualify for the $10)

If you commute more than being at home then is it really a home? And if you commute that much with that much free time when do you work? It legit just doesnt make sense to me. I understand couple hour trip perhaps. But family time every second I'm at home?

If a commute is a couple of hours, isn’t it worth playing your switch? The commute would be much less life-sucking.
Most of my time at home is spent with my wife and/or daughter. If we end up inside, neither of them want to watch me play a video game. Handhelds allow me a lot more time to play video games than a traditional console or a PC.

If you travel for work then this is absolutely true. There’s no SO, children, pets, dwelling, or yard to take care of
on a plane or in your hotel room. Your options are generally a book, movie, or podcast in the air and a bar, a crappy gym, or more work you could do in your hotel room.

If you sleep there more often than not and also get mail there? Yes. Also, if you’re not spending every second at home on your family, you’re either much better or much worse at this than all of us or you don’t actually have a family.
Yeah, wife + 3 kids under 10 + chores + random everyday happenings = about 30 minutes a day tops during week for gaming. Only hope is to sneak an hour or two on weekend when everyone sleep. And if your wife is not into gaming, you better watch out cause the eyes will roll when you boot up the system. Switch actually has saved gaming for me. Well, except for the left joycon drift.
Edit...when I was a kid (even in my 20s) I didn't get why some guys were up at 4:30 am everyday...now I get it. If you have a family it's the only time you have to yourself.

when I was a kid I didnt want to watch my parents play games either. So I played my own or watched my own TV...or went outside and played
Amen to the 10+ chores. The to-do list never ends.
Ah, you’re not married and don’t have kids. You don’t understand. That’s ok.
My daughter is one and requires supervision and attention. When she goes to bed I have a couple of hours, but that’s time for the wife and I to spend together. Even if that means she watches some TV and I can play a bit of a game.

As would I. Look, I respect every one with a family/job/etc. Im just saying if your only free time is on the train to work and during lunch breaks, even if you have a family you are slaving yourself. Most people get 2 days off a week, and have some free time. If you chose to do other things during that, thats one thing. But you cant say getting married and having a family/kids takes away ALL free time. Owner of this site is an example. Dont slave yourself

I read the XBOX ONE X loads faster than the PS4 PRO. Is this true? I don't own a 'X' yet, but I will buy one this year for a 4K display.
I think having enough free time is highly dependent on your line of work. I commute two hours each way and have been doing that for 7 years now. I work in a high-profile industry where the regular days are 12-hour days and I have to spend a lot of my "free time" sitting on public/industry boards, volunteering, etc. I don't consider it to be "slaving" away as you describe it; it's a required investment of my time to be in this line of work. Just like I consider flipping games and keeping up with deals to be an investment. Being able to play my Switch during those train commutes is a godsend. I don't even have kids yet, so I can completely understand those who have to do what I do AND juggle raising a family.

Agreed...and as a gamer, this is where Nintendo had me by the "game" balls: the ability to game on the go and game at home "on the side." With about 3 hours of house stuff to do every night and only 2 hours to do it, I can't "check out" to go PS4 or Xbox it up. I can have the Switch in table top mode and still be perceived as engaged because 1.) It's not "taking over" the living room TV and the kids feel like I'm gaming to entertain them. Compare that to if I'm playing NBA 2k or something and it's like "don't bother daddy so he don't mess up.". Again, if you're married and your wife is really into gaming then maybe it's a little different, but otherwise....
