Don't forget they also killed flash sales, have less sales due to extended sale periods, give smaller discounts and less variety.  Arrogant Sony is back doing everything opposite to how they did it when they went into the PS4 generation.  But hey, they're giving away some themes and avatars, yippee!!

Even though I'm not big on almost all FPS, and don't like battle royal games, something about Hunt : Showdown has me curious. Not sure I would pay 40, but maybe 20 I would bite and try it. As long as the game isn't just a camper fest.

From what games I’ve seen of it, most of the game is PvE with short bursts of PvP. There isn’t as much incentive to camp since if you’re not making some progress getting monster kills and finding clues then you’re not earning XP for your characters.

Not near as much content as Odyssey gold, but you still get a ton of play time in that bundle. Curse of the pharoahs is really, really good. Hidden ones was alright, but I had a lot more fun with curse. It's a solid buy for $25.

The servers are back up.  They actually recently patched it, and I think it's still playable offline, too (and from what I gather, was playable offline even when the servers were down).  I bought it in one of the sales last month and played through the whole thing online (and there were still a handful of other people in the levels).  There are occasional "server failed to load session" errors that can be annoying and leave you having to try to load the levels a few times to get in if playing online, but the servers actually are up, and the game's totally playable.

my psplus lapsed and I am deciding whether to renew it or not.

i still have some ps plus card from years ago when it was $30 so it’s not about the money.

Right now, ps plus really only provides cloud saves for me (haven’t been interested in playing multiplayer at the moment)

What it is about is whether I would be better off not renewing so that I could purchase ps4 plus games that go on sale before we get to the ps5.

For example, i can purchase until dawn rush of blood vr at 50% off right now that i can download and keep which if my plus was active i cannot.

Another example is resogun...which i don’t want to pay full price for but b/c of plus restrictions i was not able to purchase it any point on sale b/c i had it “free”

I believe they made some changes that allow me (ps+ sub just lapsed) to purchase games i previously had on ps+.  I can purchase games like Sonic Mania and Yakuza Kiwami on the web store if I wanted to.

 

Personally I'm just going to hold on to my ps+ 12mo code until there's a ps+ game or sale discount I really want.
