Make sure to add the offer to your card BEFORE using it...tax is considered when going over $250..log into your account scroll down to offers and press "add to card"

The best thing about Amex offers is shit is instant to the charge on the statement. Pretty nice. This 10% is good but I don’t think I need anything.

If you want to buy something that releases after the expiration of the deal, you can go in store and buy $250 of best buy gift cards near the end of the promotion. Note that you can't do this via egift cards.

I've gotten this promo a few times over the last five years. This time the promo being offered to me is for rewards points. They usually run it again around Black Friday. Hopefully I can get it then.

Thanks for the heads-up, OP!  I doubt I'll end up actually using it, but it was in my list of available offers, so I added it to my card.
