Yeah, I see no reason to not buy a month of gamepass anymore for these MS games anybody wants. I wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft eventually just did away with physical copies and put their first party games as GamePass exclusives once all digital gaming becomes the norm.
 
Also of note the Steam version of the game will run on Windows 7.

Edit: All version will be running win32 and not UWP.

this site and gmg i used both for least 5 years never had any no issues with any games i bought and when i did have questions they emailed me back with in 24 hrs so you be fine but as someone else pointed out X box has a 2 months for $2 ultimate pass ( that game pass and x box gold in one ) deal so you can play gears 5 day one for $2 for 2 months, then buy it after if you hate game pass.
