20% off gaming downloads ... including full games, add-ons, in-game currencies & season passes now available at Target.  Excludes gaming gift cards and subscription cards.

For the observant shopper, however, you'll know that although Microsoft may sell individual game titles at B&M stores like Target, they only pre-load the game's value to your account, and then you're supposed to buy the game using your new credit.  This is essential a gift-card for Xbox, etc.

Let's go Pikachu is already $45 digital so could be a good deal if that doesn't go back to $60.

Might get cadence of Hyrule.

I don’t understand the Xbox codes.

Are you saying a digital code for 2k19 is just $59.99 on a blank gift card and can be redeemed for another game?

He's saying when you redeem the card, it adds $59.99 to your balance instead of redeeming for the game. No idea if that's valid. Any digital game code I've gotten online from Target, Best Buy or some other website has always redeemed for the game itself. I don't see why that would work differently for in store cards. If it does, great, then I'll likely pick a card or two up.

Yeah I think that’s bullshit. I bought a Minecraft code in-store at Best Buy and it redeemed for the actual game.

Ugh, that game is just. . .not fun heh. Don't care for Go, but looking forward to Sword as a return to form.

Yeah I begrudgingly beat it. Was not great.
For someone that has never played any pokemon game.. it was fun. not great, but fun.

I ultimately played it in handheld so the catching part was mainly aim the screen and press A, the joycon part did get a little old.

Playing a main line Pokemon game I can see why some didn't like Lets Go/Go. (I have Ultra Sun now on my 3DS, Lets go pushed me to buy Ultra Sun. Never would have bought it if it wasnt for the Lets Go Demo) I still enjoyed it, but yeah.. Sword/Shield is going to be loads better.

I played in Handheld mode for 90% of the game. It's a fun game that was really easy to get to 153 if you bought that pokeball plus (which i did) I can't imagine why they don't let you use a pro controller in docked mode.

I was excited for the game and it's really nice to see the wild pokemon walking around.

I was let down with the fact is was Gen 1 only. I really wanted an Umbreon.

It wasn't $60 good so thank you Best Buy GCU.

That's not how that stuff works.

What mitch079 and zeldafanjtl are saying is correct. You aren't getting Xbox credit.

Not too familiar with XBox cards. But with Steam cards, gotta be a bit careful with them. Because some of them are actual game codes (if I recall. I think only GTA5 had it since it was so few and far between, or everything blended together.), but some others are typical Steam prepaid cards that happened to have a picture of a game on it. So read the back of that particular card to be sure what you are redeeming.

Automatic Discount or Promo Code Required? Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order Expansion Pass -
Nintendo Switch (Digital) Still shows $20.00 in cart.

Yeah, I am seeing other stuff not discounted too. Don't know what the deal is. It was automatic when I bought Mario Kart 8, but it looks like the discount isn't appearing on a lot of things like it should.

Botw dlc is $15.99 but $59.99 in cart and SCV season pass is $23.99 but MSRP $29.99 and the sale is $48.00 :^?

Very selective, just got off chat.....MUA pass DEF not on sale, for sure.....its whatever’s marked down, anything else is normal priced

Good time to grab splatoon DLC etc

Actually, it's a little more complicated. I haven't bought a card in store in a while, but it was a common practice that some game/dlc cards would just be xbox currency at the value of the item. I've bought a few items that worked this way. And a few that didn't. I don't know how common it still is if it still happens, but I think the cards that are just currency state that fact in the small print on the physical card. Seems like it was more often an occurrence with dlc.

Correct.

Those are essentially branded gift cards, see the COD: WWII Season Pass for example:

The Target sale excludes gift cards.

APEX Legends: 2150 Coins - Xbox One (Digital) - $12.80 (36% off)

Amazon PM'd it as well.

If only they had PS4....

Thoughts on West of Loathing? With the discount, it runs about $9, but not sure if it’s worth that much, or if I should just pass altogether.

I don't know about Target, but he's right that some stores/games/whatever DEFINITELY used to (still do?) just add the credit in the amount of the game you bought.

Does this make for any unprecedented prices? Seems like par for the course. $16 for SPlatoon 2 DLC ROFL that's been out for a long time now.
