New GameStop.com Deals of the Day Sales - Every Wednesday & Saturday

Has the Gamestop site been down for anyone else? I haven't been able to use it in the last few weeks it feels like.

Hopefully Amazon price matches any of these daily deals that are decent.  I'm tired of ordering "new" items from Gamestop.com and get sent open items with a sticker on the side that apparently still makes them new.

Online-only is a permanent dealbreaker unless they offer free shipping or in-store pickup for the featured products.

Yeah I glanced at this earlier and was excited and then I saw it was online-only which ruins it for me. Too much of a hassle to order multiple copies to get free shipping and then ultimately end up in the store to return it which then defeats the whole purpose of ordering online to begin with. Gamestop honestly should be offering free shipping to all Pro Members anyway.

Returning in store is just as much trouble as store pick up.

Depends on your situation. It's much easier for me since I drive by a Gamestop everyday since there is one less 2 miles from my house. Returning something is just a hassle and then you have to wait for the money to go back into your account.

as evil as gamestop is, i must say the video preview of the 'retro hangout game store' concept was pretty nice.     might be too little, too late.

Public Service announcement for game collectors:  preorder your physical copy of Ghostbusters remastered at Gamestop for PS4, XBX, Switch; because they are the exclusive retailer for the physical release this year.

The only reason I don't want them to go bankrupt is for competition purposes. There are many reasons why I dislike the company, and one is the reason you just mentioned. I've received "brand new" items that are fully opened with a "pre-owned" sticker on the box. I also purchased Bayonetta 1+2 Wii U "brand new" and it had a sticker on the side, but the game discs had multiple large scratches. It clearly was played. I avoid buying from them whenever possible due to all the opened games. It's a shame, because I used to really like the store when it was Software Etc. Awesome employees at that time and they weren't always trying to sell you junk and didn't sell used games as new.

I don’t know if anyone remembers but GameStop used to have a pre owned deal of the week a few years ago (like 10 years ago?) I remember getting some decent ones (Luigis Mansion for $5 etc) If they bring those back I would definitely shop there, they just have to be actual deals.

Yep, it was nice.

Welcome to Gamestop, where you get inferior everything for $10 more than anywhere else. They do that in store too, you get the game in an envelope with a sticker, they show it to you and say "the game is sealed, it's just open for display purposes." Meanwhile that could be the 10th envelope it's been in. It was well known for years that Gamestop employees would and could play new games at home and bring them back in. Don't know if that's still the case.

No reason to shop at Gamestop in 2019 unless you decide one day you need a certain game RIGHT that second.

You can refuse to take that "sealed game" and shop elsewhere. Every Gamestop I go to, when it's the last copy they let me know it is. Also if you think its not worth going to Gamestop in 2019 you're doing the whole cheapass thing wrong.

you think its worth going to Gamestop as a cheapass? what are you, an employee?

Using trade "deals" at gamestop paid for most of my games, consoles and even an ipod touch, so yes. There is a whole thread that you could use like many if us instead of being single minded towards a store for whatever reason people on here love to do.

I feel like I remember liking this game. Think I may just walk in on my lunch tomorrow and pick it up. Gamestop exclusives they stock pretty well and while I do typically end up pre-ordering them I am not worried that this will sell out since it's a popular franchise in Ghostbusters they will probably stock the hell out of this too.

Isn’t GameStop supposed to be closing down ?

If Sears and Kmart can swirl the bowl for the past 10 years without completely being flushed, Gamestop will be fine.

I was told by a rep that amazon does not price match at all, anymore. Was I lied to?
I was attempting to price match from Wal-Mart: street fighter collection for the switch

They don't. They are talking about Amazon matching the price of another retailer of their own volition, which they frequently do to undercut their competitors.

If you know how to "work" their trade in promos the right way you could make some serious bank. On any given day, sure, it's generally not in your best interests to do business with them. But when the right promotions and deals hit, It can beat shopping at Amazon, Best Buy, or anyone else.

I know that and I gladly do. I indicated as well they tell you it's the display box copy and then they give it to you in an envelope and act like it's some impenetrable thing. I'm sure most of them are unplayed but I know a lot of people who have worked or do work there and I know for years they would bring home games and then sell them as new a week later. This was an allowed practice at the time, not people breaking rules.

Once again yes, every once in a while they have a sale where they have the best price for a week on one or two games, other than that they're beat in every way. Amazon/Walmart/BestBuy are cheaper for pre orders/day 1 games now if you're into that and Ebay/Amazon/game trading forums are almost always cheaper for used games period. So as a complete outlier yes, sometimes if you're lucky and looking for a specific game they might have the best price for that one game for a week but even then, the price can almost always be equaled or beaten somewhere online. I live less than half a mile from one so I go in relatively often and look around, if you go in and bring up Ebay/VGPC/Reddit and compare prices, it'll often be baffling and that's with their "membership discount." Also the rare $5-10 you might save almost isn't worth it after the 2-3 attempted up-sells you go through per transaction.

Yes this is right. A couple times a year they have certain trade in promos that certain people can work to their advantage. But even then, you're left with a smaller cash amount or Gamestop credit which only works on their mostly overpriced everything. I noted in a reply too that every once in a while they will have the best price on a version of a game also, but they're few and far between in my experience. I didn't mean to come off as saying to never ever shop there, just like you said it's almost always one of the worst options on most days.

Yeah every once in a while they have certain deals that some people can use to their advantage. The average consumer doesn't/can't use this and many people don't have a lot of stuff to trade in. It's not a glowing recommendation to say "I have to wait for a certain time of year and then trade in a ton of my stuff to be able to get a good deal here." Yes you can get good credit amounts during these time periods, but then you're left with credit to a mostly overpriced store or a significantly smaller cash amount. I won't speak for others but when I mention a store, I'm talking about how a store operates for an entire year/what their prices are on everything/how it is for all consumers, not how a few outlier sales can work to a certain type of customer's advantage.

That's.. not how being a Cheap Ass Gamer works. One should never settle for a small cash amount or for buying something that's cheaper elsewhere just because you have store credit.

There's almost always some kind of deal or trade offer worth getting there. If not you can either wait, or spend your credit on things that don't typically get discounted like digital shop credit.

These are deals?
I suspect these deals will just be junk and toys slightly marked down from their already high price, and maybe a game or two that isn't real old but isn't real new either to bring it in line with the prices other stores have already had it on sale at previously .

You can pay online and pick up in store through the app. I got the X Buster for $49.99 and picked it up after work.

Enter the Gungeon Switch $19.99 (Save $10)
Anthem XB1 PS4 $9.99 (Save $10)
Power Rangers Collector's Box $19.99 (Save $20)

I totally bit on the Fallout 76 Pip-Boy 2000 Mk VI Self-Assembly Construction Kit for $24.99 on the DotD 10-12. Seems like a fun thing to put together with the kids someday and the box looks pretty sturdy for gaming stuff!
