I'm now two shows behind, but I thought of this after finishing CAGcast #604, hope you guys find it amusing:

I've been a CAG member since 2006.  I look forward to the CAGcast more than I care to admit.  I'm not very active on the site.  I wrote a story way back when about selling my Wii and buying a Pinbot pinball machine.  It was a short run feature that made the front page of your site.

I wish I had wise words for Wombat about working out, but I'll say this... You are all very likable, have such charisma and should be proud of what you've created.  I really don't care what you talk about or if you ever talk about games.  I almost always agree with Wombat.  He's hilarious!  I tell my wife that the deal between her and I is that we grow ugly together.  Age is the great equalizer.  I used to be overweight.  The big turning point for me was finding like-minded friends.  I don't belong to a gym, but my friends and I work out outside of US Bank Stadium all year round every work day over lunch.  We're weirdos.

Keep up the great work, guys!  Thanks for being Wombat, Wombat!

Hey! I always love the show. Maybe open a thread about Patreon ideas for Wombat? I think a show about healthy lunchs in manhatan would be good. Maybe pictures, short videos and/or a podcast? And it could fund and motivate a healthier lifestyle? I would chip in. And if you don't get a lot of money, then you don't do too many shows but it's a start...

Love from Buenos Aires,

Martín

Really good episode, guys. I laughed out loud at work a few times listening to it. Wombat’s After the Bread is brilliant.

Great show as always guys, although I was sad to hear Wombat so down. This show you do is a gift to the gaming community, I have listened since the beginning and I look forward to it each week.  Part of what make the show so enjoyable for me is how relatable everyone, but especially Wombat, is.  I make a great living, but with three kids under 6 and a wife who is a grad student, we have always struggled with money.  There have been times where the consumerism(no judgement) has made me take a couple weeks off from the show.  When you are struggling to pay for daycare and aftercare and a mortgage and car payments, hearing a successful entrepreneur, and an engineer talk about all the cool shit they have purchases week after week, can be a bit much.  I can only imagine how it feels to be the third person on the show.  Wombat more than Cheapy or Ship is the proxy for the listener - he has to save up for a new refrigerator, he doesn't get the Xbox One X on day one, he does't get a 4K TV right away - and that is why we love him.  Regarding the weight issues, again I feel your pain.  I am 5'9" and I got serious about my health 10 years ago.  I dropped 70 pounds, but since then I have yo-yoed from a low of 180 to a high of 230.  I'm almost 40 and every year it gets harder to take and keep the weight off without significant lifestyle changes.  The biggest help for me is regular exercise, I think Cheapy is setting a great example by going to Orange Theory.  I remember you guys giving Shipwreck shit years ago about how he eat, and how it would catch up to him.  I think a big reason it hasn't is that he his so active.  Lastly, like Cheapy, I didn't find the life insurance talk funny at all, but it got me thinking about the great gift this podcast will be for your kids in the future.  Sure kids don't want to hear about their dad breaking up poop with a hanger, or fainting at the sight of blood, but all of you have talked so lovingly about your families on this show.  One of the cool things has been listening to you all grow as husbands and fathers.  Men don't really keep diaries anymore, but you have this rolling document, more than a decade old, of your thoughts and feelings.  I think that's pretty awesome.

I know Wombat is only joking about dying and stuff but...

Look man, my mom died yesterday and it's a giant fucking bummer for me and my sisters. She didn't take very good care of herself as far as weight is concerned and it all caught up. She was 67.

It kinda sucked hearing him be so nonchalant about it. I realize it's an issue for me because of the circumstances I just laid out but still...

Take care of yourselves, guys. You're worth it.

I'm Sorry is my favorite sitcom in... I don't know how many years. Nothing but deep belly-laughs throughout each episode. Andrea Savage and Tom Everett Scott have great chemistry and are both naturally hilarious together, and the wait between seasons is truly agonizing.

I don't play games on my phone, either. I drive 10 minutes to work, and when I'm at home there's always something better to do than play a phone game.

I'm sorry for your loss, man. :(

Hey great show as usual guys. Sorry to hear Wombat having such a rough time. Hopefully he is getting some professional help in addition to trying to make lifestyle changes. I think the world needs him around for much longer than 4 years, life insurance be damned. Anyway is wombat still playing rainbow six? It seems like I don’t hear anything about it even though you named a whole section after it. Any experience with the two new characters that were just released?

Wombat - get your shit together before it is too late! You can do it if you really want it bad enough.

I also have an hour+ commute in the NYC area, young kids and I'm over 40 but I get up every morning 5:00 to exercise before work. I take weekends off. 2 years ago I was (probably) depressed and definitely tired and unmotivated. Everything was a struggle and I thought something was wrong. I went to the doctor and he just bluntly told me to lose some weight. So I did - 40lbs. It changed my life. I started eating differently - cut down on carbs significantly (no sugar, bread, rice, pasta, etc.) and stopped drinking. The weight melted off and I have more energy now than I ever did. I'm in the best shape of my life and look (and feel) 10 years younger. It is worth it.

I'm not as active on the forums as I used to be and I play less video games (which sucks) because I go to bed early now but I still listen to the CAGcast every week. It's the best video game podcast out there and it's not close. You are a huge part of it - take care of yourself buddy. Make the time.

I've been working out daily for an hour.  I've lost 67 pounds.  There's nothing more important than your health.  I think it's worth dedicating at last 30 minutes or an hour per day towards it.  Your family will appreciate it.  Plus your children will learn how to take care of themselves by watching you.  My daughter is 5 and she understand how important working out and eating healthy is.  I've not had a conversation with my daughter about working out, yet she's learned because she sees me leaving home to go work out.  That's an image that she'll never forget.

I couldn't get to the gym this morning so I used his workout that my sister-in-law shared with me.  For times when you can't get out.  I did two.

This is why Peter King keeps winning, because you have "Chinese auctions" instead of "penny socials" on Long Island.

Just be happy Wombat doesn't have to live a miserable existence from commuting from a small town in PA and only working at a building on top of Penn Station, which some suited individuals do. After all, he still gets to be out and about.
