Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (PS4/XB1) - $22.49 @ Amazon after coupon

Didn’t enjoy this one as much as I thought I would ... it’s not a bad game but I played Dead Cells before playing this and the overall quality and controls felt better in that game (yes, they’re slightly different genres, but similar enough imo).

I feel like there is a very common theme about Kickstarter backed games and big price drops close to launch.
I get it's fun to shit on kickstarters, and most of them deserve it (this one is no exception, what with the way it handled canceled ports and the Switch release)7, but lets not kid ourselves. Damn near every game has big price drops close to launch, the exception being big Nintendo games. $17.50 off it's regular $40 price isn't all that great when it's been four months since the game's release. Compare that to Assassins Creed Odyssey, which was $20 four months after it came out.

Lol have they even fixed the Switch version yet, or is it still a hot mess?
Heck no, they haven’t even patched the PS4 or XB either. They just keep giving new dates that they constantly miss. And that’s not even talking about the cut content “DLC” that’s nowhere to be seen.

Honestly loved this game but it was borderline unplayable on the Switch. I've heard the other versions are much better but haven't tried them. It's been so long since they promised to patch it, I really don't have hope that they will.

Had my Switch copy since launch. Only reason I got it was cuz I had a 10% birthday coupon, plus the metal case. I haven't even opened yet. I want to play it when it's actually optimized. Kinda blows tbh

I'll never understand why people go out of their way to purposely buy the inferior version of the product instead of the actual good versions. "But it's portable!" So? Play an actual good portable game, not an inferior version of an Xbox One or PS4 game.
For me it's a timing thing. Between work and the kids' activities I end up doing a lot of gaming in bed. While yes I have used the vita's PS4 remote play plenty, the switch just feels better without having to worry about the possibility of losing the connection between my ps4 and vita. I got lucky too I guess, because my playthrough of this on switch only encountered some occasional brief slowdown. No game breaking issues for me at least.

Because assuming you picked it up at launch, no one knew it was inferior. For the type of game it is, it should have had no problems running on the Switch. I personally prefer to get indie games on my Switch, and 95% of them run great.
