General notes:
- Fry's does NOT accept coupons.

Thank you for sharing! No Frys near me but there is one where business takes me next week so I ordered Captain Toad (3DS) and Splatoon (Wii U) for in-store pickup. Confirmation email says they'll hold it a week - thanks!

Welp, Fry's just GCU'd its entire business last night. Thank God my gift card was only $20-30 balance. Might be able to giftcardgranny it or something.

Says a lot that we had to go back to 2019 to find a good deal at Fry’s 😉 Sad that it declined so much and used to be great, but it’s been a long, long time coming.

The last time I was in a fry’s was 2 or 3 months ago. I was shocked at how empty it was. They had some random movies, almost no games, a PS4 demo/display with nothing hooked up to it, one television for sale, and a table with hand sanitizer for sale at the front. I left feeling really sad because frys was someplace I used to go to quite a bit back in the day. I could usually find a good enough deal on something I wanted that I’d buy something. This closing hurts a little more than some of the others like circuit city.

Yeah, had a blast with Fry's from about 2003-15, and it was the deals posted here that got me started. I had the Manhattan Beach location in my backyard here in Los Angeles and didn't even realize it until a few CAG postings.

Though they had some sketchy practices at times it was great fun to browse through their stores and see such a selection of things you'd never find in other retail locations. It was indeed super sad to see what those huge stores looked like in the last couple of years. The writing was on the wall but even so this ending manages to surprise. Can't imagine why they would drag it on like they did for so long if they were willing, in the end, to act so suddenly.

That Manhattan Beach location was my first Fry's experience as I didn't live by one until later. Got Tomb Raider (PC) in '96 or '97 there!

Let's see. My Toys R Us location is now a liquor store. My Circuit City location is now a liquor store. Can my Fry's location make the trifecta?

I went to Fry's almost every weekend up until it closed last week; it was a good place to get some steps in without having to worry about a crowd.

It was kind of looking up, though - the shelves had more product on it - much better than late last year...that is until you realize that over half of the store was blocked off (at least in Frisco and Irving, TX) - "remodeling", they said.

Their game selection was nonexistent by this point.  Amusingly, they did have some import Switch games on the shelves:  a "physical" version of the Japanese Devil May Cry Trilogy, the Asia-region version of Samurai Shodown Neogeo Collection, and what I'm guessing to be the Asia-region release of Final Fantasy XI.  They actually had more import games than domestic releases on the shelf (3 imports versus 2 domestic).
