Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition, PlayStation 4$24.78

Should be noted it's a 3rd party seller
I've bought from third party sellers before on Walmart, and a couple of times I got the UK version of the game.

Not saying this is the case all the time, but do be careful for those interested.

Is Iceborne harder? I know I can't do the top tier stuff, I top out at AT Elders.
It is, but you get better gear to go with it. I’m going through it super slow so I’m not near the new endgame, but with relatively low tier Master Rank gear (like Pukei Pukei and Kadachi), I’m having less trouble with MR Diablos and Rathalos than top tier HR gear vs HR ATs.

That said, MR monsters are damage sponges, so even though they’re not especially more difficult with on-tier gear, hunts generally take up to twice as long.

One of the complaints of base World was that monsters died too fast, so I think they compensated for that with MR. However, something I will say is that depending on how you played the base game you may not notice any difference. One of the best parts of Iceborne is they added real 2 player scaling (since the base game was either 1 player or 4 player) and as someone who played almost exclusively 2 player our hunts actually feel faster in Iceborne compared to our usual HR kill times.

Also once you understand the new meta you will start to bring hunt times down a lot as well. Elemental-less meta from the base game is completely dead, blast/poison are much better in MR and it's compounded by the fact the best weapon for almost all weapon types happens to have poison on it. Plus once you get a handle on the clutch claw your damage will go up substantially as wall slam damage is comparable to dropping rocks on a monster's head. You can also wall slam a monster from them sleeping even if they are enraged, so if you have a way to induce sleep on a hunt (cat weapon, arrows, ammo, whatever) you can get a couple free slams in that way.

Basically the way I'd describe MR difficulty is that once you have a good set of MR gear fighting a monster feels about as tough as fighting a normal HR monster, but the actual challenge and skill comes from getting faster clear times as the game is just slightly more complex now with the new options you have. Clutch especially is an incredibly powerful tool but the more dangerous the monster, especially tempered, the harder it is to use properly.
