So I'm picking up 3 Switch Lites for my kids for Christmas gifts and had a few questions.

I'm trying to decide if I should make there accounts "under" my parent account. Or just do individual accounts. They are 9, 13, and 14. Not sure how much digital content will even be bought.

If I did do a the family account route, if I purchased something digital through my account as the main would all accounts under it have access too the content/games?

Not knowing how much they would even play online MP if any is the Nintendo online service worth getting?

Is Local Wireless (AD-HOC?) available on the majority of titles? and is the Nintendo online service required?

Nintendo is extremely stingy with "sharing" digital purchases. Basically you can have your main (purchaser) account on multiple devices. BUT in order to play content you bought with that account, the person on whatever device (non-primary) NEEDS to be logged in using that main account. https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22467/~/nintendo-accounts-on-nintendo-switch-%28faq%29#s1q3

On your PRIMARY Switch, ANY account on there can play anything you bought.

So say, YOU bought Mario Odyssey, any account on the primary switch can play it. But if they login with the main account on the primary switch, NO other switch can login and play the same game simultaneously.

Think of it like checking out a book at the library.

Its really a bit frustrating, but I get it. Sorry if I just made things more confusing.
