It's also hackable at this point, so it's worth it if you want one.  I own one, and I've been planning to do it, but I haven't gotten around to it.

I did hack the AtGames Legends Flashback a few weeks ago, so I've been playing that one more.  :D/

Everyone needs to stop with these mini consoles. Nintendo is the only one people care about

What you talking about Willis?

I've picked up all the mini consoles so far. I'm glad they finally released a Genesis mini and it's up there with Nintendo in games and quality. The Genesis and Mega Drive mini's seem to be popular. I'll be picking up a Turbo Graphics 16 mini as well. The only disappointed mini has been the PlayStation.

Got one of these for Christmas, and also a $25 GameStop gift card, so I figured I'd buy one of the six-button controllers.

GameStop...doesn't seem to sell those online? And I can't check in-store stock? Cool.

The wired and wireless 2.4Ghz controllers for the mini from Retro-bit are great. Looks like GameStop is out of stock. Amazon has them for $18 and $30 at the moment. Although it probably doesn't help if you want to use that gift card.

As far as I know GS hasn’t restocked the controllers since launch. They really haven’t restocked the systems either as I bought the last one at my main store as a present on Nov. 24 & they never received any more.

I was looking at the retrobit wireless that also works with the regular Genesis, but I think I ended up going with the 8bitdo wireless.

I was also looking at the 8-bitdo as well but the reviews were just ok for the Genesis versions. They do make awesome wireless NES and Super Nintendo controllers. I have a few of them.

Yeah they are. I like that they include a USB and an original port wireless adapter in the box. They look and feel like original Sega Genesis controllers, the wired even more so.

I also picked up the Sega Saturn version for my Japanese Saturn which is identical to the original Japanese hardware. It's way more convenient then running a wire and extension. My cat keeps running into the cord.

Finally got around to getting it charged and fiddling with it. Work's been hell.

So, yeah, I like the 8bitdo six-button way more than the Genesis pack-in controller (and I didn't hate those).

Wireless is love, obviously, but there's a dedicated button on the 8bitdo to bring up the save/load menu for a game, and you power it on and off by holding the start button for a couple seconds.

There are a couple other buttons on it also that I'm not sure what they do. One's a star, one's a...pyramid? Dunno. I'll mess with those later and report back if they're significant at all.

But so far I've found it quite responsive, more comfortable than the pack-ins, and more accessible thanks to the dedicated menu button. One of these days I'll try one of the games that use all six buttons.

Great deal!

...But i'm gonna wait a little longer for it to go lower. I got my playstation classic for $20 new, so I'll get this around that price, unless the stock starts getting slim, but that does look like it's going to happen any time soon.

Hey thanks for checking back with me. Hope work has settled down since then.

The options you mentioned sound pretty good and I ended up picking up two of them this week as they pair aesthetically with my Mega SG . Still in the box but I did open them to check them out. Mine were not sealed and I am not sure if they are all like this. Looked brand new however. They do feel good in the hands and the D-pad is up there in quality. I do prefer my Retro-bit wireless controllers for my OG Sega systems but I can't deny that the 8bitdo M30 feels a tad more ergonomic when holding it.

I was taking a look at the manual and it looks like the Star button is for setting a turbo function to a button you hold before pressing it. I also found this mentioned in their M30 FAQ regarding the Mode (pyramid) button. By default the controller is set to 6 button mode and since some Genesis games are incompatible with this, you put the controller in 3 button mode by pressing and holding the Mode button.

I'm going to check them out later today.

Don't think I'll ever use the Turbo functionality but good to know on the 3/6-button mode swap.

I've been using the hell out of my 8bitdo on Road Rash II lately.
