Akai Katana Shin looks like it's being released soon. This was one of my favorite shooters on Xbox 360 and I'm guessing this a sequel/upgrade. The artwork in this game is utterly amazing.
The Street Fighter 6 beta is great. I'm a lifelong SF fan since 1991. I been entering tournaments since the 90's but I gave up on SF5 after a few months and found it the worst entry in the entire franchise (outside of SF1). SF6 is like a beautiful return to form for this series and the game is amazingly fun to play with the new drive system being surprisingly very well thought out.
Still, this game has some serious issues that became apparent after just a few minutes and they are all due to the game's hub world and menus. In short, they are pretty bad.
The start up screen is a confusing menu where it's not clear what options you are selecting, then you getting into the online lobby and have to go through a series of hoops to play the game. Right out the gate the 3D hubworld looks really cool and it's fun seeing all the fucked up avatars people have. The problem is since it's a 3D game and I'm using an arcade stick, I can't (or couldn't figure out) how to control the camera, which made navigation tedious. This isn't a problem at all with standard controllers.
You have to select your character before the match as well as if you want modern or classic controls. It's a little frustrating that classic controls aren't default but whatever. The problem is if I go into training mode and select Chun Li with classic controls, I'll do training with Chun Li until someone joins. Then I'm in a match playing as Luke with modern controls. Turns out, you have to access a different menu before sitting at the virtual arcade to choose what character you want when the match starts. Stuff like this is just needly convoluted, especially since there is another options menu that asks if you want classic or modern controls but it apparently doesn't work properly?
Still, great game. I'm not a fan of how slow it is but it's really growing on me and I can't wait to obesss over ranked matches and explore the expansive World Tour mode.
