Already got my tickets for when they're in Atlanta so I can end Dragon Con on a brutal note. They'll also be in my Colorado, but I've seen them live enough that I'm fine seeing them once on this tour.

Never played the Warhammer games. Boltgun looks really cool. They have intrigued me but never picked one up. I feel like it is a pretty dense universe is there a specific game on Xbox to jump into for someone's first warhammer game? One in particular with a Great story and gameplay?

Are you asking about Warhammer Fantasy or 40k? I was a big 40k guy back in the day, and there’s three games I played that I felt really captured the spirit of the thing. Dawn of War 1&2 on PC were great RTS games that focused on a fixed number of units rather than Zerg rushing, so it felt like the most like playing on the tabletop. On the 360, Space Marine really made you feel like a marine blasting the hell out of orks. Sadly, it isn’t BC, but there is a sequel in the works.

Not to mention that Microsoft never advertised this as a feature or offered support in any official way. It was always a loophole and I'm very surprised it lasted as long as it did. Were we talking about the removal of an advertised feature, like the removal of the ability to install Linux on PS3, I can understand why people are getting upset. You can still do this through dev mode, and yes, that costs $20. But, again, this isn't what dev mode was created for so you have to treat it as the unintended outcome it is rather than a core feature of the Xbox.

I have more of an issue with them remotely killing apps you installed in your console already, I get killing the ability to get download but disabling for people who already had it in their machines is a bad look

Sonic Frontiers is done.  It was fun.  I'm happy the final bosses didn't do too many button mashing sections like earlier bosses.  To continue my month of not too stressful games, I'm thinking New Super Lucky's Tale next.  Followed by Truberbrook since I got it for GWG.  I've got the new Sherlock Holmes game from backing it on kickstarter and will play it at some point.

Send them a picture of a piece of paper with the words "I don't want to sell game I just want to buy.  Can you let me in?"  No idea if it'll work but it's worth a try.

 

Back when I signed up (2021) they only needed the extra ID verification for people that wanted to sell, but as others have alluded to I don't know how things are nowadays.

Been to a few shows this year and last with several more coming up.  So far so good, no illness yet.  Hoping all those vaccine shots are working well.  

 

Never seen Dethklok live.  My disappointment in that they aren't coming near Arkansas is quite high.

I'll play it with friends.  30fps might be almost noticeable to me if I swap between modes, but I won't care if I don't play it running better.  60FPS will be patched in later, so it's not like they have given up on it.

Same here, never used to bother me, used to just care about graphics being as high as possible. We got a 120hz tv at Christmas with vrr and boy does it make a difference, 60 is my minimum now

How is this on Microsoft exactly? Do you really think they are trying to sabotage the game on purpose or something? Arkane was a 3rd party studio when MS acquired them. MS delayed the game one year already. What do you want MS to do? Delay the game again?

 

I think covid really hurt a lot of studios and we are seeing the repercussions of that now, every major AAA game from every platform has been delayed. Making games ain't easy. Just take a chill. I've already said that people need to avoid trying to play games on launch day. People who play a game after it's been all patched up have a much better experience than people who play a game day 1. Just look at Cyberpunk 2077 for example. 3 years later it's like playing two different games and it's still continually being improved upon to this day.

I've seen them live a few times and nope, that's still a Dethklok show. Just Brendon Small and co. playing in near darkness while animation that accompanies the song plays behind them. Though animation is more intricate post Dethalbum I or so, but even then if you seen them live once then you're not missing too much there after. Though it also doesn't help that you saw them with Mastodon whom sound great, but stage presence isn't their forte as well.

 

Though really if you're a fan of the show it's worth going just to experience, but also on Roku there's a full Dethklok show from when they played at SDCC last year and yeah it's that same experience.

Because Microsoft touts "day 1 on game pass" for all these titles and then they all seem to get delayed or broken at launch, usually both.

 

I think of the people who bought the "all access" xbox + game pass line of credit (yuck). What big day 1 exclusive titles did they get for their $300 of Game Pass compared to the trailers during the xbox series release window...Flight Sim, Forza Horizon 5 base, and Halo campaign?

 

There are many games on game pass, but I think they should downplay the day 1 angle because the expectations are set too high.

Good news, everyone! I'm finally leaving my incredibly toxic and stressful full-time job to focus on other career stuff. Will be working fewer days and also making a little less money, which means 2023 is the year of the backlog.

Same. If everything else is well made and performs well, I can get over it. If it's 30 FPS and dipping into the 20s that is another story
