Bought GTA 4 and it's so nice to finally be able to play this game at a locked 60fps. I have a high end PC but no matter how much I tweaked with the settings I could never get that game to run well on it because it's so poorly optimized.

 

The only disappointment is the DLC is sold separately on Xbox so I'll just get that in a future sale.

Both DLCs are currently on sale right now.

The biggest disappointment is the removal of a bunch of songs from the BC version.  Boo!

Think they were removed from all versions in an update - not just the BC version. Microsoft doesn’t change anything.

That’s actually why many games didn’t get BC was because of song licensing issues and MS couldn’t do anything about it.

Will be interesting a generation or two down the line when the consoles should be powerful enough to actually emulate the 360 code on the fly.  Wonder if MS will dedicate the resources to that so everything will be truly backwards compatible.

As someone in Indiana, all I can say is just pick a time and stick with it… I hate sunlight until 10pm this time of year and no light until 830am in the winter

Right, but I can play my disk versions of GTA4 and Episodes from Liberty City on PS3/360 without downloading the updates that removed the music.  I installed and updated them after the music removal was announced and before the patch was released.

 

60 FPS is definitely way better if music isn't a concern though.

Apparently it's only the difference if you ordered the Standard Edition, and it's kind of an Upgrade, however people were able to reimburse the Standard Edition and keep the Ultimate....so far at least...

Also works for fry cry 5 hours of darkness

I found a glitch on the Xbox store. If you go to gta 4 dlc the lost and the damned and the ballad of gay Tony if you click on them it will say included with gold. Click on that and it let's you install it for free.

Also works for fry cry 5 hours of darkness

Mine had a button that said buy now and had the sale price like normal. There was a new button next to it said Included with gold. I clicked on that and it installed all of the season passes mentioned with out buying the game/dlc.

Does anyone have issues ordering a custom elite series 2 controller off of the design lab on the Microsoft website on an iPhone?

I want to order one since Microsoft somehow messed up the look of the Red and Blue Elite Series 2 controller (these controllers are only blue or red on the front and white on the back)

Do you guys know if Dell will price-match and let you use Dell Rewards at the same time? I'm trying to get a regular Xbox controller (core?) but it doesn't look like they're on sale anywhere right now.

I think you can ask them to price match and use the rewards as part of your payment.  You'd need to start with either a chat or phone support and have them send you a purchase order, and then you pay for the purchase order as it's own transactions.  (The last transaction I did I had to have them do the PO method, even though I wasn't price matching... but even though I was doing a PO I WAS able to use reward dollars.)

 

I saw they had the Elite 2 controller earlier in the month, but I wanted to wait until I had the full 30 to consider that and it looks like that controller sold out.  Maybe it'll be back...

 

I ended up just buying some RB4 DLC packs, since those song packs never seem to go on sale, so it seemed a decent use of the money.

There are probably other ways but I usually do this from the Xbox app. It lets you download a game even if you haven't purchased so it's great before getting a physical game too.

If you go to the tile in your games list, you can click the start button and select Manage Game. Then you’ll be able to select the full game download and when you save the changes, it will download.

That's a hot deal. It's quite tempting after I passed on the $15 Prime Evil Collection but I have so much to play in my backlog. Feelsbadman. 

 

I'm probably going to wait until it becomes feature complete...which probably won't be for a few years...or even more. I can't believe the Rise of the Necromancer pack for D3 came out FIVE years after the D3 release. Insane in the membrane.
