Anybody else having problem with Mortal Kombat X? I had it installed on the external hard drive and it would not load, nothing was for a while from there. I deleted it and reinstalled and still nothing.
I unplugged external when Xbox was off and plugged it back in when Xbox was on and games were running again from the external but not Mortal Kombat X. I even uninstalled and installed on internal and that did not work, all I ever get is the logo and it does not load any further.

Sacrifice made, get ready for The Orange Box to go on sale soon as I just picked it up.

Reason why:

Spoiler

I bought it a few weeks ago at full price as well. It's been on my list for awhile and got tired of hoping it would go on sale so I just pulled the trigger. Same with Rumble Roses.

I, too, bought it... though it was in (February?) The Before Times, when Gamestop was doing a buy2get2 on 360/ps3 games.  Picked it up with a few Kinect games.

Though my intention for getting it was just that I wanted to have an easily primed 2-point achievement to unlock so that once I hit 99,999g I can jump straight to 100,001g. :)

And if the 3 of us buying it doesn't make it go GWG, then we'll just have to have 1 additional person per month buy it until we can determine critical mass.

Looks like it's my turn for a piece of devastating personal news. I've been doing all the shopping for my grandfather during the pandemic so he can be safe at home. He is 86 years young. I've noticed that he has seemed off balance this last month and this week he actually asked me for help with yard work he likes to do himself. I felt like something was wrong but I thought maybe it was just because he had been sitting at home for 2 months not exercising. He is the type of person that does not tell family about issues he is having, he doesn't want to worry them. Yesterday he was complaining about stomach pain, he thought it was something he ate but he looked pretty rough when I saw him. This morning it was worse, we called 911 because he was pale and weak, unable to walk. It ends up he has really had pain for 4 days. They rushed him to the hospital and found internal bleeding. He was given a blood transfusion and the scans show intestinal blockage, likely cancer. He is having emergency surgery tomorrow morning.  I'm completely fucked up right now trying to deal with it. He is the bravest bad-ass I know. A military veteran and the rock of our family. He is scared to death to be at the hospital right now with how bad the virus is here. We can call him, but no visitors allowed

Grandparents rule!  Will be praying for him and your family.

These are the scariest moments in a person's lifetime.  Having to wait outside while a person they care about is in surgery.  The minutes and hours almost seems to stand still in what seems like days before you get news everything went great and they are recovering.  I send good vibes and well wishes to you and your family.

I Still have Mafia 3 Gold Edition I gotta start and I just remember the last portion of Mafia 2 was the most drawn out "why is this in the game?" segment of any game I've ever played with the whole "WE NEED MONEY! GO DO THINGS THAT'LL GET US MONEY!"

Borderlands 3 or Control? Leaving it vague on purpose.

Edit: sorry for the above situation. Didn’t see it before I posted. Makes such a choice feel a little silly.

Pretty stoked for this, Mafia 1 will get achievement/trophy support, and the dlc for mafia 2 will actually be obtainable.

First one had the most memorable ending of a game for me. Played through 2 but don't remember much. Picked up 3 recently but haven't tried it. I'd be interested in this just to play 1 again on modern hardware.

Borderlands 3.  It's pretty great.  The criticisms are overblown, however, they are not without merit.  If you enjoyed the other ones, you'll enjoy this one and there is a ton of content that could take a long time to play if that's part of the value equation.

I’m watching the Unreal Engine 5 reveal, comments are so stupid lol, people asking where are the games... Bro... if they don’t give you new engines, your new games are gonna look like hot trash.

Folks also thinking that demo means PS5 is better based on the Valhallah stuff. You can't compare a tech demo (which was made by the people who created Unreal Engine 5) to a game that's in development and use that to judge which platform is more powerful. I'm guessing that same demo would look just as good or similarly impressive on the XSX.

I don't know, Digital Foundry seems pretty stoked by this demo on the PS5.  I guess it will depend on how much of this is benefiting from the SSD.

It made me lose a decent chunk of my remaining brain cells. A "Summer Gaming Showcase" that the Geoff hypes up only for him to take an hour time slot to show 8 minutes of an incredibly boring tech demo and then talk about fortnite for 40 minutes with three other adults. Says before the "show" that's he so excited then half asses a 40 minute fortnite convo. Hes a tool.

If people are gonna complain about people complaining about there being little to no games being shown during this time, they should at least make sense when typing. Clearly there was no need for the 40 minute fortnite conversation between four ADULTS. Either show the tech demo and end the stream, or use that 40 minutes for something useful.

Side note: I must be the only person on the planet who has no interest in these incredibly realistic (or whatever you want to call them) graphics they're pushing now. They're seemingly aiming for real-life sims which completely voids my interest.

I think the engine stuff is cool, I remember spending hours and hours downloading the Half Life 2 engine reveal and watching it probably 20 times before Half Life 2 came out.

The Fortnite stuff might not interest you and I but it’s still a wildly popular game, so I get why he would spend time on it.

The thing people will need to understand is they are breaking up three days of E3 press conferences across the whole summer. This Unreal Engine thing and Fortnite thing and everything shown on Microsoft’s show would have barely been a blip at E3, so if everyone goes into each one of these shows expecting to see Half Life 3 and Mario Odyssey 2 then you will be disappointed nearly every time. A lot of gaming companies work on things people don’t care about individually but other people might, so my suggestion is, go into each showcase with the expectation that you might see something cool but if not, then it probably wasn’t for you. The nice thing about the condensed format of E3 is that everyone got something for them during the show, in this new format you might be waiting a while for the show about the thing you care about.

I’m having a great summer of games so far, Assassins Creed Valhalla looks great, Tony Hawk remastered is a day one for me and this new Unreal Engine looks like it’s going to continue pushing gaming forward. Plus it sounds like cyberpunk will let you customize your dong, 2020 gaming!

You know this forum is full of ADULTS that collect pikachu plushies and watch mega man cartoons, right? I'm not sure this is the place to call out Fortnite for being childish. How many minutes of Fortnite conversation was there? I think I missed it if it was mentioned.

At least you made sense while typing complaits about people complaining about people complaining...

The PC contributor guy they interview actually says he doesn't know how the engine is going to scale with the SSD, and this is mainly showing off GPU performance (which is no doubt incredible). It's insane this demo isn't using hardware ray tracing.

In general, tech demos look better than real games, since they aren't managing AI etc. Will be very interesting to see what developers are able to do with this engine, considering FF7R, Gears 4 and 5, etc are on UE4 and are beautiful games.

This was a tech demo of UE5. Not a demo of the PS5. They just happened to use a PS5 to show the engine off. No reason not to expect the same level of performance on the Series X.

Hey, don’t knock ColecoVision! I still have mine and ready to play Venture and Donkey King Jr. at any time (after dig it out of the attic).

That thing would blow the doors off XSX and PS5 combined!

I Don't know, a console with multiple doors sounds like a game changer. Why does it have doors? What's behind those doors? Does one of those doors contain Half Life 3? All this before I even picked up a controller and played a game.

I remember a gaming article that included the start up video leading to the main menu for one of the All Star Baseball releases on N64, 1999-2000 timeframe.  The video was a couple MBs in size.  There was a comment on the article talking about how much space was wasted on the N64 cart for that video.  Someone from the PS1 world used to FMV cut scenes and unfamiliar with the concept of in-engine scenes.

The great thing about the Internet is everyone has a voice.  The bad thing about the Internet is ... everyone has a voice.
