What happened to the game reviews on the Xbox store? They really came in handy with smaller games that don't get reviewed on a lot of sites. Pretty key feature they had over the PlayStation and Switch stores but maybe devs of low rated games complained?

Ended up picking up a used copy of Control at a local chain for $20 since I had store credit to cover it. So I'm expecting it to hit gamepass soon. Trying to save store credit for any new games for the series x but $20 was my buy price for Control.

That said, I was disappointed when Xbox changed the policy on GwG with the new console generation (to match the PlayStation Plus policy on ownership). I really liked the value-added factor of being able to keep GwG games on 360 even if the Gold membership lapsed. Guess it was too good to last

Was my game of the year for 2019, and was followed closely behind by Jedi Fallen Order, and then both a tie on Outer Worlds/Outer Wilds. Granted I'd probably give all of them 8 out of 10 if I was a video game reviewer. Control tapped into my weirdness of listening to "Paranormal" podcasts for fun. If it had a better check point system for like 2 boss fights would have been a 9.

TrueAchievements > Xbox Achievements > More Filter Options > Choose either "not divisible by 5" or whatever number you want.

He said he liked that Xbox 360 games were permanent licenses, but Xbox One games were time-based like PS+. How was that difficult to understand?

It’s never smart buying an Ubi game near launch, regardless of the time of year. Cyberpunk is not at all comparable and won’t see a significant sale during the first month of release.

I love the AC and Far Cry games but I stopped buying them day once since AC Unity and just wait until Black Friday sales. Over the past few years I don’t buy any game on release date except if it’s a Nintendo game because other games discount through sales about a month or so later.

 De-loused in the Comatorium was a pretty solid 2003 rock album

 

 

I'd put it up there with the album of 2003, got Rick Rubin to produce it coming off their At-the-drive-In band, Storm Thorgerson did the cover of Pink Floyd fame. That was probably one of the last full albums before everything went to singles. Weird thing while I like the album I think the break up did everyone well. I think Jim Ward going and making Sparta was a great move. He's done some fantastic stuff also. Cedric and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, still kind of trying to figure it out. Even though the latter is definitely one of those virtuoso guitar players

huh, I didn't notice they were gone. I think there was something they did last year where they removed a ton of negative reviews for games like Gears 5, maybe they just took that to another level.

I agree they were good for the more obscure indie games that fly under the radar. I've picked up several games with passionate reviews describing a diamond in the rough and passed on several games that looked really good but had game breaking bugs that may not even be addressed.

Bug Fables is an excellent Paper Mario clone that has nearly a 5/5 on Xbox, as well as PSN and eshop. For $25, it gives at least 40 hours of gameplay. Limited Run announced a physical version coming to PS4 and Switch in the future as well.

Forager is another great indie that is coming to Xbox and Game Pass this coming week.

I tried to play my disc copy of Shadow Tactics last night, and I almost fell asleep during the first stage.  Uninstalling now.

 

One thing that I've learned during the pandemic is that if a game isn't for me, I have no trouble deleting it and moving on to the next one.

Oh cool, I had no idea that Bug Fables is also on Xbox, I was about to bite the bullet and buy it on my Switch Lite or my PS4 Pro, but I'd rather have it on Xbox for the achievements, and the 50 Bing points a day.

There's a Twitch drops thing going on with the steam where you can get DLC for Ubi games by watching. I'll be watching Jorraptor but I imagine other streamers have the same thing.

If you sign into your "Uplay" pretty sure you get Watch Dogs 2 for PC.... if you're into that

I just had to set up two factor authentication on my Ubisoft account, and I suggest that everybody else do it also. I had people from Africa, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea all try and fail to log into my Ubisoft account in the past week. Not sure what they would actually get out of hacking somebody's Uplay account. As it doesn't seem like there is a whole lot that you can do, besides spend points on in game items.
