Nioh 2 $19.99 Rakuten.com +FS

Great price! Wasn't planning on getting this game since I absolutely suck at games like this but for the price I'll give a try

That's a great price. Loved the first one and the second as well. I bought the Special Edition on release day and don't regret it but at this price it's basically a steal. Such a beautiful game.

If you have an AMEX card with the Small Business promo going on right now, use your AMEX card to pay for this. You get $5 back as a AMEX statement credit making this only $15 then. I got an email from AMEX right away after purchasing this. Thank you OP!:)

Rakuten or the seller is part of the small business? Made the purchase but didn't get AMEX email.

Part of me wants to grab this game at this price and try it out but I haven't had very good luck maintaining the patience to play through "Souls Type games" which did include Nioh 1.  Any reason why a non souls fan should or shouldn't give this one a shot?  I always like the concepts, I just don't really care for games that are hard for the sake of being hard,

I've had a somewhat similar experience with Soulslikes in general (including Nioh 1), and tried out the beta of Nioh 2. It felt a lot better to me, but that may have been motivated in part by a few factors.
  • One of the things that hurts my ability to stick with soulslikes is a short attention span combined with a tendency to be overcautious in attempting to make progress in these games, and the limited time available in the beta helped push me to dither less and progress more.
  • The excellent character creation system helped me get more invested in my character than I tend to be with soulslikes, which definitely helped me stick with it.
  • The unusual availability of NPC aid, which helped me feel somewhat more confident in making progress.
Other than the character creation, I have no idea how representative these aspects of the beta would end up being to my experience in the full game. That said, even after gaining a fair amount of familiarity with the beta's combat and design, and right off the positive experience I'd had with progressing in the beta, I still wasn't able to make much headway in Nioh 1, which I picked up again immediately afterwards, before tiring of it. If my beta experience was sufficiently representative of the full game experience, I think Nioh 2, when I eventually buy it for a lower price point than this, could be the first soulslike I can stick with without getting bored.

Holy hell this dropped way faster than I expected. $40 for the special edition is a good price, $20 for the base game is a great deal! Game is tough but so good. Bonus items from the special edition helped me during the early going. Can't stress enough how awesome this game is. Hard like dark souls but plays much more fluid and action-y. Not nearly as slow and clunky as DS or Sekiro. Don't let those comparisons turn you away if you're not into that style of game.

I enjoyed the first game. Gotta wait for this one to get a bit cheaper or be on sale again for $20 when I have some extra funds again.

My order shipped out on the 14th and just arrived this Tuesday. Shipping took a bit longer than expected. Bump for an amazing deal

Antonline just updated their ebay listing for the Nioh 2 Special Edition and dropped the price to $34.99.

I'm glad I hesitated and held off and put it on my wishlist. I got a notification of the price drop today.

Special Edition included the Season Pass, Art book and a SteelBook case.

Yep, they will ship it in a bubble mailer. Mine came in reasonable condition with one dent on side
Had the same issue with my SE. Got a follow up e-mail from Rakuten a few days after it arrived and I responded honestly about the dented corner and that it mailed in a bubbler mailer. Customer support asked for a few photos. Sent those over and then got a phone call asking if I'd take a $20 refund to my payment method as a solution.

On sale at gamestop, 20 new and a used copy going for $18 and gamestop also has a half off $100 purchase of $30 or cheaper used games.

Yeah I got it for $9 yesterday as part of the 50% off $100 sale. Good deal!
I wish I could have gotten it when I made my initial order but at the time it was showing the game used for $37 I think. Retrospect I should have waited day. It would be a long time before I could get to nioh 2 anyway

Slightly off topic but I got an email saying rakuten is closing it's u.s. store september 15th and points will no longer be earned on purchases after august 19th and points will expire sept 15th.

Thanks for mentioning this. I reached out & they asked for pics too. After looking at the damage they processed a full refund with no return needed. Pretty amazing customer service!
