Are Chinese Games Legit?

I keep finding sellers on Ebay selling Chinese versions (from Hong Kong) of games on PS4 like Doom Eternal, Gal Gun, Persona 5, etc and  games like River City Girls, Catherine and Dragon Quest on the switch and my question is, are these bootlegs? They feel like bootlegs to me and if they are bootlegs, from a collecting standpoint would it be worth buying the "rarer" ones to collect and resell and are they safe to play on my consoles?

Thanks!

What do you think this is, 1993? If there were bootlegs, your systems wouldn't be able to read them without modification. Those games should be region-free, but if you wanted to buy DLC for them, you'd have to use that region's marketplace.

In his defense, eBay used to be plagued with bootlegs for years. It still is with bootlegs for older systems so it's not too unusal to think there might be bootlegs for newer systems.

OP, it's become pretty common for certain official Asian release games to be cheaper than their US counterparts so sellers in those regions are more likely to ship overseas now since that broadens their market. If you're ever unsure if whether an Asian release actually exists, check Play-Asia, they usually list all versions of a game.
