I assume the cancel trick is simply to buy 3 games and return one unopened? I might use that to get three games on launch day and return one, as one of the games I want comes out Friday and I don’t want to wait an extra day to get the games for my console.

the cancel trick is to order 3 games and cancel tthe 2 you dont want. if you order 3 $60 games, target will make each game $40.

The safe bet is to go with Target now if next gen is included. I don’t see any stores discounting next gen games on Black Friday with the usual exceptions of CoD and AC.

Ehh I'd give it an honest try Saturday night as soon as it goes live. They always list exceptions but some games always slip through the cracks, esp on day one of the sale and Target doesn't really tend to cancel those orders that get by

Yeah, the only two differences are that the ps4 version gives you both the ps4 and ps5 versions (while the ps5 only gives the ps5 version) and the next gen logo on the artwork is different. While I'd like to start getting some PS5 cases on my shelf, I won't be paying a premium for it.

you don't need to return. you can just place your order then cancel the games you don't want. it's just how target has their system set up for sales.

Just to make sure I'm following you, are you saying we can place an order of three games for store pickup and then immediately cancel two of them, and ultimately go and pick up one game at the discounted price? I want to make sure that's safe if I go that route, I could see Target.com not letting me cancel because the order is being processed or is ready for pickup.

i have never done it with store pickup. I would do 2 items shipped and the one you want for pickup

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try to play dumb and try to get Call of Duty along with Spiderman and Demon's Souls. If that fails though, I'll order Call of Duty for pickup and a couple of $70 games for shipping. In that event, hopefully the games that I choose for shipping don't process quickly and I'll be able to cancel them.
