CAGiversary!
I need a bit of help with an extension that I found recommend here. It is GameFOX which my issue is that i have quickpost enabled, which I like, but that when i read a thread with only 2 or three posts that it tends to obscure the text and posts. Anyone know how to fix this issue or circumvent it?
Currently, I have:

ReloadEvery 1.5 (A Godsend against those Ebay snipers and for the EBgames Morning Updates. Very highly recommended.)
Tabbrowser Preferences 1.2.7.1 (not bad, but I'm not really sure what I need this anymore since FF 1.5 came out. I think it is because it gives me some control over tabs that I couldn't live without or something)
Tab Clicking Options 0.5.2
(I love this extension. It's great and very helpful. Speeds things up when working with the tabs. It's nice that it lets you customize what you want to do with you actions.)
Image Zoom 0.2.3 (Forgot to mention this one earlier. It's not bad to say the least. Great for zooming and resizing pics. ;))

Inconjuction to what I previously posted, I now have these extensions as well.

Adblock Plus 0.5.11.2 - Oh my G-d, what did I do without you. Gets rid of just about every ad I see. Some pass through like Google ads, but that's why there is another feature that I added that comes up later. And now with the update to Adblock Plus it allows for whitelisting and even more customability as it allows you to say which sites you want to see their ads and which you don't. I have it set up for parts of CAG.
PDF Download 0.6 - Let's you either view the PDF as an HTML or PDF format, or even just simply DLing it to your comp. Pretty good. Works 100% of the time. Freaking unbelievable. It has saved my ass so many times with presentations and work.
Adblock Filterset.G Updater 0.2.9 - Excellent. One of my favorites. Eliminates just about everything. here and there a small blip or ad will get through, but 99% of the time it gets everything. Only bad thing is that it can block images off of some sites that are important or simply block windows from opening mistakening them for ads, but then you can always turn it off :D.

And time to add some more that I have gotten:

Restart Fox 0.3 - Adds a restart function to the drop down file list. I can't believe that Firefox doesn't come with this standard. It allows you to quickly restart Firefox after an installation of a theme or extensions. And coupled this with SessionSaver, well there's nothing better.
SessionSaver .2 d1 * nightly 30 - Awesome unbelievably good extension. Another one that should come standard. In case of a crash or a freeze, this will boot up your Firefox just back to how it was with all of you tabs, etc. Also great for saving sessions and used together with Restart Fox, there is nothing better.
GameFOX 0.5.0 - I don't remember at the moment who posted it or recommended it, but this is a must have the gamer or simply for anyone that goes to the GameFAQs and its forums. Now I don't go to their forums really anymore but it ads a quick reply and a quote feature and overall just makes navigating their site that is starting to look and feel dated, a whole lot better.
Save Image in Folder 0.7.2 - Found this extension recently, but has already become a must have of mine. Let's you right click and save any picture you want to any folder you have made ready for it. Now I work even faster with it.
Download Statusbar 0.9.4 - This is a really necessary extension for those of us that get annoyed with the download window that pops up. Even better than that one download extension, Download Tweak (I believe it was called this, had it awhile back) that let's you specify how you want to open your DL window (either in a tab, sidebar or new window), since it basically puts your download or download window on the status bar at the bottom complete with statistics and all. Makes Firefox a lot less cumbersome
StumbleUpon 2.2 - Well this is a tool that is simply awesome. It's a social bookmarker that allows you to apply all your bookmarks and right them whether you like them or not. Also, by your user defined settings of what you are interested in, and by clicking the Stumble button on your browser you will get a random site that should apply to you to which you either say you like it or not and make it a bookmark.
TimeTracker 1.0.4 - I just like this extension because it tells me how long I have been online.
undoclosetab 20041126 - Basically as it suggests. It undos a closed tab of yours, and I like it and all, but I thought there was supposed to be a button for it somewhere?
keyconfig 20050313.1 - This powerful extension basically allows you to change and customize and any short cut key combination (i.e. ctrl - T for a new tab, etc.).
Viamatic foXpose 0.3 - This extension should have come standard with Firefox. I think it was only recently created, but allows you to in another tab to see a little preveiw of all your tabs you have open. There is a feature like this in Safari already and coming up in the new IE 7. Only difference is that it doesn't consume so much Ram and is not as flashy. Still, when I have 10-20 tabs open it is great instead of meandering through them.

And I'm using the Standard Firefox Theme for the moment.

SessionSaver. If the browser crashes or is just closed, next time it's opened with the same windows and tabs - just like Opera.

Not bad for a free browser.

The only problem with SessionSaver is that if you really use a lot (i mean dozens) of tabs and windows at once, Firefox starts getting bloated very quickly, to the point of slowdown and crash. But it is useful.

Personally I use All-in-One Mouse Gestures (once you get used to it feels totally natural), Plain Text Links (highlight, right-click text to launch in a new tab/window), Adblock (of course) and CookieCuller (just easier management of Cookies).

I have the All-In-One Mouse Gestures and i dont like it that much.

I also have foxytunes which I like a lot. You can control your media player while browsing the internet.

Gmail notifier
Adblock
WeatherFox (I think it changed it's name, but it shows the weather in bottom right toolbar)
Somathing Awful last read extension

Yesterday i just went through and downloaded a bunch of random extensions. Here are some I like:
TorrentBar (A toolbar search for bittorent sites.)
Print It! (Adds print and print preview option to the context menu.)
Diasable Targets for Downloads (Makes it so when you download something a new blank window wont appear)
Single Window (Doesnt open links in a different window.)
MSP (Play Media files in the sidebar.)
eBay Negs (Display ebay negative feedback via right click.)
Track Packages (Track packages without going to the site. Just rick click.)
No Phishing (Warns when a site may be a scam.)
and
Pong (self explanatory)

I just installed 'imagewrapper' you right click on a picture and it will autoformat it for forums and what not.

Right now I only have adblock and downTHEMall

But I'm going to get some more after seeing the extensions that you guys have.
Currently, I have:

(I love this extension. It's great and very helpful. Speeds things up when working with the tabs. It's nice that it lets you customize what you want to do with you actions.)
miniT (drag + indicator) (I was trying to find an extension that would do what this one does for some time. This one is perfect. Allows you to arrange your tabs in anyway you want and comes with a little arrow that points to where you're dragging and dropping them.)
Flat Bookmark Editing 0.7 (This extension should have come standard with Mozilla. Very helpful for organizing your bookmarks and is a thousand times better than the one that comes built-in.)
Image Zoom 0.1.7 (Forgot to mention this one earlier. It's not bad to say the least. ;))

And I'm using the Orbit 3+1 0.0.3.2 Theme.
Time to update this thread and bump it up since I've gotten a whole ton of new extensions.

Inconjuction to what I previously posted, I now have these extensions as well.

Adblock v.5 d2 * nightly 39 - Oh my G-d, what did I do without you. Gets rid of just about every ad I see. Some pass through like Google ads, but that's why there is another feature that I added that comes up later.

Switch Proxy Tool 1.3.2 - Eh...it's alright but you have to supply your own proxies which can be a pain in the ass to find.

PDF Download 0.5.1 - Let's you either view the PDF as an HTML or PDF format, or even just simply DLing it to your comp. Pretty good. Works 85% of the time. Some PDFs don't want to work with it or it just doesn't work at times

Download Manager Tweak 0.6.3 - It's alright, but nothing spectacular. I've seen that it can mess with some of your DL's depending on if you have it open up in a new tab, etc. Also can run slow when working with DLs. The interface it has that it changes the current DL manager in FF is nice though.

Adblock Filterset.G Updater 0.2.4 - Excellent. One of my favorites. Eliminates just about everything. here and there a small blip or ad will get through, but 99% of the time it gets everything. Only bad thing is that it can block images off of some sites that are important or simply block windows from opening mistakening them for ads, but then you can always turn it off :D.

I love seeing threads like this in nearly every forum I visit. It's amazing how much better Firefox is than IE.

mine:

extensions24wu.jpg

Of these, the indispensable are:
AutoCopy
TinyURL
TabBrowser Preferences
Autohide
eBay Negs
All In One gestures (I find myself trying to use it outside of Firefox)
SessionSaver

and as you can see I took some suggestions from this thread (thanks OP).

edit: while I'm snapshot-ing, this is the best Google ad evAR:

pcfordummies6fo.jpg

Besides what's already listed:

FlashGot - so Firefox works with FlashGet
refspoof - for spoofing URL referrers
MediaPlayerConnectivity - opens embedded videos in a external video player of your choice
Adblock. CAG is unbearable without it. I can even block the ebay and google ads.
Yaeh, I hate to agree with you on this one since the site's great, but the site has become too littered with the ads for my taste. I had most of them blocked already just by doing it to every page I came to, but now with the Filterset G, I barely have any on any site I go to. here and there one ad will scoot by, but then I just block it too.

Moxio, looking at the pic you posted, what theme is that for Firefox. It reminds me of Safari on Macs and I kind of like it. I've been trying to find a good theme, but some mess with some of my extensions, or I just can't seem to get used to.

Bumping this up to see if anybody knows of a good RSS feeder/extension/plug-in. Would make it so I don't have to go to a bunch of sites to see if they've updated every couple of days.

There is Sage, but you probably have something by now.

I use:
SessionSaver
Super DragAndGo (Drag links to anywhere blank on the page to open them in a new window)
MediaPlayConnectivity
AdBlock Plus
Bandwidth Tester
OpenDownload (Open any file from the internet into their default program (downloads to temp. folder))
SwitchProxy Tool

WebDeveloper
FoxyTunes (Winamp control at the bottom of the window, i'll probably remove this)

If there are any coders in the house, for the love of god, someone make the 24 clock somewhere on the browser, I want it so bad.

Actually, I haven't really found one yet to my liking, but I'll try Sage out and give it a go. What is AdBlock Plus? is this a new version of Adblock? I haven't updated my adblock in awhile since it still seems to be able to block just about everything;with few things getting through.

Oh and Scorcho, I got Webdeveloper now as well and I've been really liking that one. And I wouldn't mind a 24-hour clock either. don't really know what I'd exactly be using it for, but it would be nice to have.

Man, I have way to many extensions now.

Practically. It just supports whitelisting and div blocking.

Google is your friend, Scorch. DerBrowserTimer.

These are the ones I'm using right now. Before I had a bunch of others, but I've done some cleaning and narrowed it down to these; the ones I must have and really like.

ReloadEvery 0.6.1
Tab Clicking Options 0.5.2
miniT (drag + indicator)
Flat Bookmark Editing 0.7
Image Zoom 0.1.7
Orbit 3+1 0.0.3.2 Theme.
Adblock v.5 d2 * nightly 39
Copy Plain Text 0.3.1
Adblock Filterset.G Updater 0.2.4
Numbered Tabs 0.1
PDF Download 0.5.1 I love this extension so much. Makes opening PDFs so much easier.
StumbleUpon 2.04 I love this extension a lot as well. it so much fun finding random sites like this. I've found a ton that I probably wouldn't have otherwise this way. Sort of like going to the library and picking out a random book that you think you may like.

Time for a new bump of this thread since I have just installed the new 1.5 of FF after my computer died on me and a bunch of extensions. I got most of the ones I had before, minus miniT drag since it is now included in the standard FF client (wahoo!).

I have

SessionSaver
Download Statusbar (I love this extension that I found. Makes it so I don't have to open the DL window and have it blocking my view of the browser.
Cookie Culler - (Eh..so so.)
Restart FF - (A must for any FF user. Makes it so that you have a restart option under the file menu in case you need it for when you install some recent extension, etc.)
Coloful tabs - (adds a bit of color to my monitor. The drab look of the regular FF was starting to bother me.)

That's mostly it for the update, but I have tested quite a few other ones, but uninstalled them since I didn't like them.

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5

Extensions (enabled: 19, disabled: 0):

* Adblock Filterset.G Updater 0.2.6 - Automatically synches my filters with a well-updated list
* Adblock Plus 0.5.10 - Better than Adblock because it allows whitelisting for sites I want to support.
* ColorZilla 0.8.3.1 - Excellent dev plugin. I can pull the RGB or html value of any colour out of a page.
* CookieCuller 1.2.0 - Advanced cookie manager, not useful anymore sine the features are integrated into 1.5.
* CustomizeGoogle 0.38 - Great extension. Lets you control what Google does and doesn't do when you use their services.
* DOM Inspector 1.8 - Standard dev tool, including with most FFs now.
* Disable Targets For Downloads 1.0 - Spawning new windows just to download something sucks. Could be better.
* Download Manager Tweak 0.7 - Fine tunes the FF DM.
* Html Validator 0.7.6 - Dev tool, not very useful or to be trusted.
* IE View 1.2.7 - So I don't have to laboriously search for those IE icons that never get used. IE View Lite is better, need to switch.
* Image Zoom 0.2.1 - Can be helpful.
* InfoLister 0.9c - Generated this list.
* Menu Editor 1.2 - GREAT tool. Cut down on what menus you see in your menu bar. When you've got ~30 extensions installed, every extension having its own menu entry gets to be too much.
* PasswordMaker 1.3 - Really advanced password generator that can generate random passwords for a site, a subdomain on a site, or even a direct URL given a master password. All kinds of different hashing algorithms with your choice of complexity. Fantastic extension.
* Tabbrowser Preferences 1.2.8.7 - akes tabbed browsing to the next level, mainly included in 1.5 now.
* Talkback 1.5 - Firefox 1.5 feedback dev tool.
* User Agent Switcher 0.6.7 - Change your UA string whenever you want.
* View formatted source 0.9.3.4 - Helpful dev tool that makes looking at source easier.
* Web Developer 0.9.4 - Greatest dev toolbar ever.

--Fasterfox
--PDF Download
--FlashGot
--Enhanced Bookmark Search
--Google Toolbar (gotta love "Autofill")
--Gamefox (makes gamefaqs a little easier to deal with-- adds quickpost and such)

my current favorite:

StumbleUpon-- you pick from certain subjects which are stored in a profile, hit a button, and it'll drop you at a random site related to one of them. you can vote whether the site was a good match or not. Works very well so far, no option for Porn, sorry ;)

Umm...I hate to say this, but yaeh you can go into StumbleUpon and customize it to send you Adult links as well, or even just adult links. It's just in your preferences.

Edit: by the way, anyone know what FlashGot does exactly. I keep hearing a lot about it, but nothing really as to what it's used for.

I noticed that some people have Adblock Plus when I was rereading this thread. Been on FF's site, but can't find anywhere. Anyone think they could link to it. Would be great to support certain sites that I like, etc.

http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=774

It's discussed in the quoted portion at the bottom of the first post in that thread. You can either install it from there (extensionsmirror is a trust-worthy site) or right-click, download, and drag the file into the extensions window.

To white-list, you can either enter it manually into the rest of your Adblock filters by using @@hxxp://*.cheapassgamer.com/* or whatever protocol/site. You can do that, or you can use a more easily-managable interface under Adblock Options called Site Blocking/Whitelisting...

When you say I can do a more easily-manageable interface through Adblock Options, do you mean through regular Adblock or the Plus version?

Anyway thanks for the link to it, gonna go and grab it but how come it's not at the mozilla site?

FlashGot lets you use an external download manager for Firefox. It's most useful for the "Download All" feature.

Fire, he meant Adblock Plus. Regular does not support whitelisting.

And StumbleUpon is the bomb.

'Adblock Options' is the actual name of a dropdown menu in the Adblock Plus preferences.

And I'm not really sure why it's not on the standard Mozilla site. I think because whitelisting is supposed to be supported in a future version of Adblock, so maybe they just don't want to create confusion...

There are extensions that haven't been updated for 1.5. I've been using 1.5 since beta1, and Adblock Plus along with it without problems.
