Might grab one, these perform better than launch switches right? Do the launch models still sell for more because of the modding options? Seems like this would be a nice unit that will hold its value when the Super Switch/ Pro model launches later this year.

In general you are correct. But these are ugly as sin. The Fortnite bundle is the one to get.

Isn’t it just a red switch? I’m not in love with the blue accents, but if you’re using it in portable mode or docked it’s basically all red right?
 
I'm dying for a Metroid edition, like what they did with the 3ds. I'm gonna get this one, and flip it when one I like more comes about

Yes which makes it boring. Maybe I’m blind but it doesn’t even have a slight offset mario on it. Have you seen the AC or Fortnite consoles? They’re really custom and themed.
 
I’m sure we’ll be drowning in Zelda-themed stuff by the end of this year ... it’s the 35th anniversary, so we’ll probably get a Switch collection, a Game + Watch, and a limited edition console of some kind.

Thats a good point. I don't have a switch yet so I hadn't even thought about that screen border issue. I was considering this one, but really not liking the red color ever since someone posted a fake mockup of a Luigi green one that actually would have been way cooler.

That animal crossing one keeps popping up occasionally so I wonder if this one will be similarly "limited". After waiting this long I should really just hold out for an eventual pro version, a really awesome limited edition or at minimum a pack in game I want.
 
Am I crazy or isn't Mario mostly blue and not red? Only his shirt and hat are red and the shirt is mostly covered by the front of his overalls. Look at an image of him. He's at least 2/3 blue and certainly less than 1/3 red.

Red plastic was cheaper. 😉 I think the M being red counts for extra red points. Why didn’t they release a Mario & Luigi edition with red and green joycon? Oh well, I’m sure they have 20 more editions to go.
 
Decided to wait ... was tempting to get a slight upgrade from my launch version, but better things are coming and this doesn’t seem unique enough to guarantee that it will hold its value when the new system launches.
