Thanks to Frisky for all of the hard work that he put in for the previous deals threads (and continues to on this thread!)

Feel free to post here about the newest Nintendo eShop deals, My Nintendo rewards and discussions about the previously mentioned items.

Well, here’s to a new era of sharing Nintendo deals. Thanks again Frisky for all the hard work, and thanks to Psunami for starting a new thread.

Thanks psunami, that works perfectly.   Now we just need everyone to add their links to the wiki portion to make finding deals easier.  I'll go through mine and add anything useful as I have time.

Added NintendoSwitchDeals to the wiki post.  I view reddit through the "old" viewer... like how clean it keeps things.

Is Ary and the Secret of Seasons really as bad as people say? So far it has had multiple large updates but the game still constantly drops to $20 or less.

There's a youtuber, ZARANAMI, that posted a first hour video 3 days ago... so after all the patches. I watched some of it, seems like they fixed most of the issues... though the game isn't perfect. The main praise I've seen for it are the puzzles. From what I watched, yeah the puzzles seem pretty decent. I might grab a physical copy, especially if it drops under $20.

I wanted to get a post in on the first page of this thread since it will probably go on forever

I miss the old thread. Maybe it's just the nostolgia, but we should go back to that one!
Frisky doesn't want to manage the thread anymore and wanted someone to take over. No one wanted to do the kind of exhaustive labor intensive lists he used to plow through so this is the best alternative as at least we have a wikified post that anyone can edit to help improve the thread.

It's the end of one era... but the show goes on.

I'll be more than happy to take input from people if there are certain things that we'll want to add to the thread.

Right now, I just wanted to get a framework in place and we can go from there.

To paraphrase...

"We come not to bury Frisky, but to praise him."

For the moment I think the best we can muster is to share links like we did when frisky announced his retirement. The more common resources we have for tracking deals the easier this will be. Also, I'm not sure what controls the wiki post has, but when I edited it last I went to the code format and copied and pasted the contents to a text file on my computer. So... as that develops, I'll try to help out back backing it up.

Target has eshop digital or physical cards for buy-one-get-15% off another (aka 7.5% off each). Stacks with red card to get just over 12% off each card/total

FYI. You can get 10% off eshop cards at costco and sams club everyday. You just have to buy $100 worth.
Good to know. Since this is more of a discount with red card (and I don't have memberships to either Costco or Sam's) I tend to toss at least another $20 into my balance whenever it comes around

Talked to the Nintendo rep at my store today and she hadn't been told anything about the so called "Super Mario 3D All-Stars recall" at the end of the month. Never heard them do anything like it in the 30 years of working for them.

I am curious about this myself. I think they are just stopping retailers from getting more stock/not making anymore. It doesn’t make financial sense to recall everything.

what would they even do with all the inventory if they were to recall the game? call up atari so they can bury it with ET?

There will be no physical recall; they will be just removing the games from the eshop (*) and cease to produce 3D All Stars physical. I guess from April 1st and on, the physical version of the game will start to increase it's price considerably as a rare limited version.

(*) If you have already bought the game, you will be able to still play it. Even if you delete it, you will still be able to re-download it.

Not sure why people are thinking they are going to recall thousands of copies of the game that are out at retailers. They are just going to stop producing new copies. It's no different than most games that companies do one printing of.

i dont think the price will go up much, maybe down the line
feel like theres too many copies floating around

Because the wording is that is exactly what they are planning to do. It makes no sense for them to do it, unless this is something they want to try and do for future releases and these items are our "example". So when the zelda 35th stuff comes up and it's limited ... we'll feel a little more pressure to go grab copies (though after mario, I'll wait for Walmart to stock the game(s) and save my $10+tax).

I've read multiple articles about it including the original Nintendo of Japan tweet and nowhere does it say they are going to be recalling or pulling copies of the game already at retail off the shelf.

SUPER MARIO 3D ALL-STARS
Nintendo confirmed that physical copies of the Mario re-release will stop being produced at the end of March. Also, the downloadable version will be pulled from the Nintendo eShop at midnight on April 1 in Japan.

As far as I could tell, they aren’t planning to have stores ship back unsold copies on April 1; they just won’t be making any more. Of course, I don’t know how that differs from all other games, it’s not like they are constantly producing them. I think the digital version is where the main difference is.

If I thought it was going to leave shelves. I would have bought a few copies last week before GCU went offline.

Yeah, I'm thinking retailers will just sell through their remaining stock and just never receive more. This whole limited time thing with these games was a confusing choice, but Nintendo was practically founded on confusing choices.

Thanks for the new thread btw!

Pin Set #2 came today (USPS MI), box is much larger than expected (had hoped it would be the same dimensions a Set #1) but it'll fit somewhere!  :p
