On website it shows 49$, eshop is 50. But in store. It's 41$ for the game that just came out.

Happy playing! :)

I wonder if it is a YMMV thing? Going to check out the store near me. Thanks OP.

Saw it yesterday at a Walmart for the same price.

P.S. Here's the Brickseek link. Of course use with caution, but the prices seem to match up in my area at least.

You can check the Walmart app for your local price. This seems in line with how Walmart prices are on all of their Switch games. $60 games are $50 and $50 games are $42.

Maybe its just me, but isn't $41.88 more like $42 than $41?

And it’s still $41 more than it’s worth. We got this FREE on 3DS. Should have been same here.

serious question, what made it free on 3ds? just curious, as its now $40 digitally. didnt really follow the 3ds because ive never been much of a handheld gamer.

Check brickseek before you go. Around here the stores did not get many copies. When I went in yesterday, it wasn’t on the shelf yet, but the guy went in the back for me. They only got 4 copies of it,

Glad many of you managed to get one. And despite price condos compared to 3ds. I love this game for a simple reason. I loved my Mii characters since the wii. So it's always nice to keep support for them in current consoles of Nintendo:)

Am I the only person that thinks this game looks like absolute dog shit?

Yeah I genuinely have no idea why they felt the need to port this to switch. Never played it though, but not really interested. Maybe I'd try it for $10-$15

I wish they would port Tomodachi Life to Switch

I've played about 5 hours or so and it's actually a really fun RPG. The Mii's that people have created are mindblowing. My current party is Shantae, Momo, and Blinx the Time Sweeper.

That's the big difference about this version. The mii creations. The rpg itself is fun too. Tomodachi would be great too to have tho. I'm still hoping for a fantasy life switch game myself..

As for how this game looks.. well. It may not be for everyone. Just like Earth Defense Force.. which is just awesome to me lol

It does what it set out to do, it's a port of a 3DS game that is based on a Wii character creation system. Picture it like an addictive smartphone game you spend $50 in microtransactions on. Except instead of $50 in microtransactions, you pay the $50 and get all the content upfront. Normally I'd call the game a tough sell on a game deals site, but it's a Nintendo game, fun, and highly addictive, so it will still sell.

The Switch-exclusive new addition "makeup" customization options are a huge draw to the charm of guiding your own created characters through the story.

Not saying it's worth buying now or that it's good, but I feel like that new addition is genuinely good.  While pointless re-releases maybe should not be praised, any game revisited with thoughtful additions is a nice thing for everyone.

FYI:  There is a demo available for this game.  I started playing the demo last night.  Overall pretty decent for what it is and it gives a solid sense of what the full game is.

Walmart is $10 less for all physical games it seems.

(At least locally)

I wonder why.

That Switch premium ... still amazing how many people out there will buy old games for $20-30 more.  I get that the game is new for other players, but I wonder how many are just double-dipping on all of these last-gen/old games that publishers are just milking as free revenue.  The Switch has become home for publishers -- Nintendo included -- looking to cash-in (at least) one more time on old releases at MSRP.  I'm glad it's a healthy ecosystem, but I also wonder how much longer will players fork over this much to play an old game -- and one many have already played before.

It certainly explains why publishers are happy to buy out old developers and IP, and "remaster" them.  Why bother making new things when the old stuff keeps on selling.

The switch is somewhat unique in that there are a lot of owners that didn't own a Wii U, and probably quite a few that didn't have a 3DS as well. So for these people a lot of these games are new and interesting or it was something they always wanted to play. It certainly helps Nintendo fill the calendar with games, where the Wii U had crazy long dry spells. On top of that there is another sub section of Switch owners that only get Nintendo consoles and have never played games the came only to Xbox/PS consoles. So games like kingdoms of Amalur, ni no Kuni, and red faction are new to a section of the install base. As you said, if it sells they will keep doing it. I have no issues with older games getting new life on new consoles and portability of some of these games is nice, but like you said if they do this instead of new games, then there could be a problem down the road.
