Target buy 2, get 1 free sale returns, starting Sunday (usually around 3am EDT).  Video games, movies, board games and books seem to be included.

Hopefully select preorders are included as well like in last sales.

Also, don't get your hopes up too much as I am sure there will be exclusions like most 1st party Nintendo and 1st party Sony PS5 games.

What are you hoping to get?

Saw this via SD. The last 2 times they had this promo Sony exclusives such as Tsushima and Last of US 2 didn't qualify....

Note: Excludes select video games, pre-order and new release movies, and LEGO. Items can be from any combination of movies, books, video games, board games, activity sets and puzzles. Lowest-priced item will be free. Quantities limited; no rain checks.

Wonder if PS5/SX games will qualify...

I probably should have waited to buy Nier R. too lol oh well. Last time I got Godfall (still haven't touched it), Cold War, and Cyberpunk, all pre-orders. I'm excited to see what pre-orders are available this time.

And still haven't touched Cyberpunk, was waiting for PS5 upgrade. But clearly because I got Godfall last time, ps5 worked last time, so we will see what ps5 titles qualify this time. LFG Target!

First party PS5 games like Demon's Souls, Miles Morales, and Sackboy Big Adventure has always been excluded. I'm not expecting Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart or Returnal to be included, but I would like to be proven wrong by Target.

I had Samurai Warriors 5 and the new Binding of Isaac for Switch preordered in the last sale and they got cancelled because "There was an issue with fulfillment" or something.

That's Target slang for: Their employees decided they wanted them so shaq-fu you, the customer. Instead, they will pile them up in the back of the store for when their employees' checks come in next Friday.

Whatever. They're more than entitled to do so. Those employees barely get a living wage, deal with assholes, and worked to supply essential products on the frontline during the pandemic.

What the fuck did you do?

It was also meant as a joke. I've actually previously worked at Target for a short time. Don't mean to offend anyone. I will hold any jokes in your presence from now on lol.

Like the B2G1. Retailers don't really do this anymore, except Target. Amazon does it, but really just to match Target.

Does anyone know if figures are a part of it? I don't think they are, but board games are sort of toys in a way so didn't know how far that stretched. A friend asked me earlier, told him didn't think so but would try to find out about past years. I've never tried to buy figures during b2g1

To my knowledge, action figures have never worked for this promo. The best that you can expect from Target with toy sales is the "buy $50 and save $10/get a $10 gift card" deals, and those usually happen around Easter and a few weeks before Christmas to get rid of old stock.

Ah good point yes I've seen those sales before. Thanks! Friend keeps asking me to check my local Target for a specific GI Joe figure. I didn't start down that rabbit hole and it sounds like a tough game to get into.

The new Joes are 6 inches and cost $20 a pop. They're closer to the size of the Marvel figures. I know that there is a smaller version that's closer to the original 3 3/4 inch scale, but I've only seen those at Walmart with the vehicles and such. Action figures is an expensive hobby.

The Snake Eyes with Timber looks pretty slick. I don't have any of them but I could see myself picking that one up. I don't have very high hopes for the upcoming movie but I definitely plan to check it out regardless, like the very mediocre Joe game that came out fairly recently. Played it off of inertia but wow was it not memorable. Enjoyed the PS3 one a lot more.

I preordered both of those last sale too, and they are both still valid for me. When I went in the order though I noticed that Akiba's Trip had an "Action required - Approve delay" message despite it not coming out for another 6 weeks, so I approved that "delay."

That's the problem with Target preorders, they will sometimes have odd messages to approve a delay, even when the item hasn't even been released yet (happens a lot with game delays). I make it a habit of going into all my open preorders at least once a week to make sure no weird approval messages are there.

I just love it when target and FedEx says my package has been delivered but it’s nowhere to be found
In my experience, and this is uniquely with Target, usually what happens when they say your package has arrived and you can’t find it anywhere, the initial carrier has passed it along to USPS and they deliver it the last mile within a day or two. Never happens with Amazon, but Target seems to utilize that method frequently.

Anyone have experience with Target and backorders? I had brought an Persona/Shin Megami Tensei based artbook like more than a month ago, and its been stuck on backorder since despite the original release date claiming to be in mid May. The annoying part is they keep pinging me the charge then sending me an email to confirm a new release date delay.

Its still in stock with a new release date in early July, so I'm wondering if I would be better off cancelling my old order (Since it was during the Buy 1 Get 1 50% book sale), and grabbing 2 more books

I had the PS5 charging dock pre-ordered when they were releasing those. They put it on back order, kept bumping the date back on it, then eventually just cancelled it. Summary of this story, YMMV.

Shit, I've heard of that happening before and figured that would be the case

That's happened to me multiple times. One time it was a video game preorder I made months in advance as part of buy 2, get 1 free. Video game came out, went out of stock temporarily (it was not a big-selling game, but I suspect it was in a lot of b2g1 purchases), I never got it. Instead, they kept sending me emails saying I had to accept the new expected delivery date or else they'd cancel it. And get this, the game came back in stock on the site and they were still sending me email delay notifications long after it returned!

Yeah I just got it today when it was marked delivered yesterday. Pretty annoying

Damn, Guilty Gear Strive (PS5) was part of it at $59.99, but then it sold out quickly.

Nioh Collection (PS5) is part of it at $69.99.

Just remember target adjusts prices in your order so you can cancel games if you don’t want 3, for example 3 $60 titles will be $40 each meaning you can cancel 2 and still pay $40 for one title or cancel 1 and pay $80 for 2 titles

It takes two PS4 is on sale for $30 meaning you can grab it with 2 other $30 games and cancel those to get it for $20~ outriders ps5 is $45 until tomorrow and is also included making it $30 a piece if you grab 3 and cancel 2.
