eBay - extra 20% off select gaming items (most used)

I'm not sure if it's an official association, but yeah that's the majority of their refurbished product.  Products like a game are going to be a lot less risky than a console or controller.

I bought a decent amount from them over the years.  But after one particularly bad experience I mostly stick to AWD for cheap used stuff.

I boght a brand new Game & Watch Super Mario Bros from them and it was laughably used... it was opened, the slipcover was missing and inside the box, the system tray was missing. The system itself looked new outside of the film on the screen being removed/reapplied (tons of bubbles and dust under it) but the item obviously was not new.

Seems like a good deal on a "Very Good" Dual Sense for about $44, but wonder if the quality is actually good, and if returns will be a nightmare or not.

EDIT: Decided to bite. Hopefully the return process won't make me regret the purchase (if it comes to that).

It may just be me but I get very icky about used controllers although I did get a PSVita used way back in the day (was like new though). Some people just don't wash their hands before using their keyboards/mice/controllers.

I'll risk $136 for a used Switch Lite. It frees up my launch Switch for homebrew without having to worry about a Nintendo ban.

With you on this. I also don't buy used controllers. For me, worth spending a bit more to get new and not deal with problems down the road that can come from used ones.

i've been like this for years, before all the 'rona jazz.

you know dudes are handling their junk and scratching their nuts while they game. guaranteed that they NEVER clean their controllers.

I already got the Switch Lite delivered. It's definitely been dropped on concrete or chewed by a dog with a few small indentations in the corner and there's a few smudges on the body but all buttons work and the screen is fine. Just a quick hit with Lysol cleaner and it's fine. The charger is even an official Nintendo one, so that's an extra $30 value

... youd rather get a mangled switch lite for $120 than spend the extra *$80* to get a brand new one..?

Man this really is a CAG thread

That Switch Lite looks too beaten to me. Would go for a refund, but I was picky when a Vita preowned I bought had one small scratch on the back haha. Dents are big no no.

All things considered, that's not too bad. So long as everything works I wouldn't have a problem with it either.

Yeah I agree it looks pretty good.  Those look like drop/scuff marks though, not dog bites.   Dog bites even from a tiny toy dog would leave much more damage than that haha.

Got my DualSense today. No charging cable (if they even come with those normally), but the controller is PRISTINE. Not a scratch, and looks like it's brand new out of the box. Will have to charge it to make sure it's 100% fine, but so far, I'm certainly impressed.

They don't come with charge cables so sounds like you got an unused return, that's awesome!
