What Game Has You Hooked?

My current game of choice is Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2. I'm playing the Steam version currently and having such a blast day in and day out that it's making me think I will play it forever. I love researching the Stats of Buffs/Debuffs, Attacks, Skills, everything about it! I've finished the Story about 5 times already with different characters, previously modded it to oblivion (until it stopped working) then started over fresh and now I'm doing a totally vanilla run without mods or cheating at all. It's way harder and much more enjoyable this way. Although I do miss the cosmetic and music mods that didn't alter gameplay. Ah well...

I've been hooked on this game for ~2 weeks now, playing every single moment that I'm awake. 99% of my time is playing the game, 1% is researching it or talking with fellow gamers about it. I effing LOVE this game!

Ever since I got back into CCG's this year, MTG Arena has been my go to everyday for daily wins. Game really hasn't changed all that much in the 20 years since I had last really played, but the strategy aspect is not unlike chess in a lot of good ways. I'm hooked more in a way that I enjoy the collectible nature of sets and the 'thinkiness' that often lingers long after some matches.

Castlevania: circle of the moon right now. Most of the way through that.

I just bought Xenoverse 2 in the last PSN sale, so maybe I'll be hooked on that too like Tyler soon.

Nothing has me hooked anymore except for Tekken 7. I play it at least once every day even though I suck at it haha. My news year resolution is complete at least two games on Steam before the year is done. My backlog on there is so bad it's not even funny. My first game I've been meaning to 100% is Persona 4 Golden since that's the game that got me into the series. P4 vanilla on the PS2 that is. But online fighting and shooting games usually take up the majority of my time since they're just games to turn my brain off and have fun. Was sinking an obscene amount of hours in CoD MW before all the issues made it unplayable for me, so I uninstalled that one.

As for the second game I'd want to 100%, I'd like it to be Civilization 5, but realistically that's not happening. Everytime I've seen Youtubers play the Scenario mode to get those achievements they end up rage-quitting literally every single time lol. So yeah, my second game is up in the air for now I guess. Maybe doing XV2, but if I can't find anyone to earn the online achievements I'll probably end up using the Steam Achievement Manager to just unlock the online related ones if I've already unlocked the rest.

Gotta clear out my backlog so badly #SteamSales xD

Bought Yakuza 0 last year IIRC, played for half an hour and decided it wasn't my cup of tea.

Fast forward to a couple days ago, and damn is this game sick! The ridiculous humour, combat, and seriousness of the story is just *chefs kiss*

It's such a good game so far.

Finally grabbed Fallout 4, not great not terrible. They got rid of a little too much of the RPG and brought in too much looter-shooter but I'm still having a good time.

Plants vs Zombies on my 360.  Playing that one quite a bit lately - definitely a comfort game at this point.

Valheim again. Mods have made it so much more fun as a creator tool and I've dumped probably another 50 hours into just building towns, castles, docks, and minimalist souls-like locations with lore woven into it. Always impressed with what this game has to offer to the point that one day I might have a fully populated adventure map to release with tons to discover.

Sounds look you're heavily invested in the game. I'm the same way with Civilization V. I started playing it recently with and without mods, but I've lost all interest in modding games for the past year or more myself. Civ has always been that super addicting "go-to" game for me though. I've also saw YongYea's review of a new game called Cult of the Lamb, so I might giive that a try pretty soon.

I've seen Valheim before, but never played it. Just checked the Steam Store and it says it's also Single Player. Hmm might have to give that a go as well. And I'm always a sucker for mods.
