PS3 - Silent Hill HD collection $22.90 Amazon.com

Not sure why Sony fanboys are still trying to perpetuate this myth about the PS3 version of SH HD (Incomplete) Collection being "better"...

Both are flawed compared to the PS2 releases (or PC with fan patches). At least Xbox 360 version is backwards compatible with modern consoles, so there's an argument to be made about the convenience of that. You can't play the PS3 version on a PS4 or PS5.

Who are these fanboys you speak of?

I heard games released via xbox live only got one free patch. So they never resolved the issues that plagued the 360 version since they cut their losses after the first patch didn't fix things. Obviously neither version is going to be the ideal experience but that's why the ps3 version slightly edges out the 360 in this case.

this is true of the physical version, but the silent hill collection is available on ps now

Hope 2 and 3 are released on GOG at some point as happened with 4. Haven't heard good things about these remasters.

What are the odds this is some foreign import version? 100%?

Looks like some sellers have Homecoming PS3 for pretty cheap too, guessing these got reprints? Or were they always common?

Another uneducated sucker. Misinformed due to people like the thread creator here... The 360 version already ran better than PS3 to begin with, even more so (perfectly) via back compat. In terms of content, they are the same as well.

Again: Get the 360 version and play on X1 or XSX, *or* find a way to get the PS2 or PC version if you want the superior original voice acting for SH3 (which never got patched into HD Collection).

Yeah, I've heard the 360 version is "better," albeit as you say, neither is great.

That all said, while getting the originals on PS2 (or Silent Hill 2 on OG XB) may be the best route, that could be a very time consuming route, and well, A/V cables off a PS2 on an HDTV is pretty awful.

The HD collection has issues, but they're playable and a way to experience the titles in HD on more accessible consoles and likely far more cheaply. This is CAG, after all.
